I purchased this 1962 Plymouth Fury 225 Slant Six in 09 to fix up and use as a daily driver/cruiser. I purchased it because it was in such unmolested original state....and from the family that owned it since 1968(see attached pics). I bought the car in running condition and drove it home 300 miles. Shortly after I started to have some carb problems. So I did some research and found that it had a rebuilt carb and that they are not reliable. So I sourced a brand new NOS stock Holley carb(Included). The car had a stuck heat valve in the exhaust manifold so I bought a brand new later version(included) that fits, but a electronic choke will need to be added(not included...I think the are 45 bucks). When I pulled the carb and exhaust I decided to just pull the head and swap out the head gasket(IT DID NOT SMOKE AT ALL)...just to do it, as I was there. This is where I stopped. The car just needs to be put back together.....do to other interests, family and work......I am neglecting this easy project that someone deserves. Here is a overall description, if you want more pics or have any questions just ask! Body- Original paint. Has some bad rust about fist sized behind wheel wells(worst spots). Besides that the paint is in suprising good shape. Has some tiny rust spots and some bad touch ups done over years. Chrome- Original-In very good shape. A little polish and will look like new I think, few dings in some of the trim...very very nice though. Glass- Original-Small 4" crack on drivers side...rest is good and windows function. Interior-Original- See the pics...Very RED overall. Back window interior is faded a front bench is worn. The pics show the condition well. ALL GAUGES WORK except the temp gauge. Evrything lights up, Radio works(AM ONLY OF COURSE) Misc----Wipers work, all lights.........check out that trunk.....its unreal. Now the mileage---It says 36000+ on the odometer and it works.....the previous owner claims her grandmother used this to go to church and get groceries and think that is correct....that its not 136000.....I cant confirm this. The wear on the seat is the only thing that makes me doubt this actually. Comes with a original owners manual,a original service manual, the registration from 1968, a blank set of metal keys as the ones that are cut are aluminum I believe....I think they were the spares maybe? Alot was done to this car over the last years by the PO and I have the receipts.....new tires, shocks, brake lines...things like that. This car needs very little work to be a great car....The car of course is not running and needs to be trailered home.
