Vehicle Detail
1973 Ford F250 Ranger Camper Special, 390 Automatic, 31,800 original documented miles an original truck never restored a true survivor. This truck has a very unique history it was owned by Richard Wagner the owner of Wagner Ford in Simsbury Connecticut, he special ordered it and the truck was delivered to his dealership in 1973, he was the only owner until he passed last year and I purchased it through his estate. This truck was his toy he only used it for camping he would travel with it in Mexico he would have the truck shipped to Mexico, he would then fly there and use the truck on excursions throughout Guadamala Mexico. You can still see the lettering painted on the doors of the truck Guadamala Express although most of the lettering has worn off over the last 38 years. The truck has always had a camper in the bed until last year so it was well preserved, whens the last time you saw an original truck bed that looks like this one 1974? The original paint shines but has some wear and couple surface rust spots, sides of truck are straight not dinged up, bed is real nice, underneath is clean and solid, original untouched 390 motor runs like a watch with no noises or smoke starts right up and very dependable, turn key and go, has power steering, power disk brakes. Interior is original there is a tear on the seat on the passenger side the drivers side is mint, original rubber floor mat in great condition, original working radio, has cruise control and sunroof but Im not sure if they are factory, had a couple rust spots inside next to rear window that I fixed. Last year after I purchased it I had 1700.00 worth of work done brand new gas tank(rear) new carburetor, fuel pump, starter, tune-up, new step bumper, new bed mat. since then I have put on only 300 miles. Has dual tanks I only use the rear one, the truck is all set up for a camper there is a place for a second battery, I have the original propane tank brackets that mount on the frame under the bed, just add a slide in camper and go. Truck has plenty of power would also be great for hauling your horse trailer, boat, or car trailer. You wont find a 1973 with only 31,000 miles and the history of this one, I get lots of compliments when ever I take it out, its almost 40 years old its not perfect and its not a brand new truck but its original, it passed state inspection last year with no problem, e-brake, horn, wipers and washer fluid, everything works. Picture #2 I just took its at Wagner Ford where the truck was delivered brand new(the dealership has since closed since Mr Wagners passing) the last photo is what the camper looked like that he had in the truck. I have a copy of the original title, original owners manual and sales brochure. I have a clear title, truck will be sold.On Aug-23-11 at 14:54:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found this article about Mr Wagner click on this link to read more about him http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/hartfordcourant/obituary.aspx?n=richard-dunbar-wagner&pid=137479901&fhid=4107 .On Aug-27-11 at 09:08:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Any last minute questions please ask today Saturday they are predicting a major storm here for tomorrow with many power outages so I may not have computer access sunday, any local bidders put your best bid in now while you can.
