There are a lot of superlatives that can describe this 1985 BMW 325e, but I'll use just two--Exceptional and unique. This is a car which has been driven only 32,000+ miles in nice weather on dry pavement. It has never been driven in any inclement weather. The rear seats have only been sat on one time, the passenger seat has been rarely used and the car has never been smoked in. In short, the car's overall condition is near showroom perfect. This BMW was purchased new by a friend of mine (I am the second owner) on April 19, 1985 in San Francisco CA and was in his possession until Aug. 19, 2009 when it was transported to Carlisle IA. The car has seen minor modifications, but the sale includes all of the OEM original parts. Also included are the complete maintenance records, a shop manual, owners manuals, custom BMW bra and a car cover. Features--Interior The interior is completely original except for these few modifications: 1. 14" Haan custom sport steering wheel by Personal w/BMW logo on center hub. 2. Sony AM/FM Cassette w/10 CD changer 3. BMW installed console cassette holder. 4. Techne TL-1255 UNGO Box security system 5. Custom made removable covers for the dashboard and rear deck. The original Blaupunkt stereo and leather wrapped steering wheel (both in near new condition) are boxed up and included in the sale. Features-- Exterior The exterior paint is the beautiful, original Diamond Black Metallic, which was a $420 option. A dark red, hand painted pin stripe along the upper trim line on each side of the car. Underside of hood and trunk lids have been waxed and buffed to a mirror like finish. The wheels are 15" Alpina 3 piece, lightweight, high strength, road wheels from Hardy & Beck Performance, Berkley CA Chrome exhaust extension. Mechanical: Engine is all original and in good working order with the following modifications: 1. Air conditioning system has been upgraded to use the R-134 coolant. 2. Dinan installed ECU performance chip. Installed in 1998 resulted in an 18% increase in horsepower. Car's standard springs have been replaced with sport springs, resulting in a lowering of the car and improved handling.
