Vehicle Detail

This is a 2001 Mercury Cougar with a 2.5L EFI-DOHC V6 motor in it, and an automatic overdrive transaxle. The transaxle requires replacement (housing cracked, axle damaged, and other possible internal damage), but the motor is in great running condition. It runs very smoothly and cleanly, with no pings or knocks. There is currently 111,631 miles reading on the odometer. This car had been hit by another vehicle prior to my owning it. (picture provided) The impact was on the right rear side of the vehicle, predominately in front of the rear wheel well, but also partially on the wheel as well. The impact had broken the strut and bent one of the trailing arms, but this has since been repaired. (A used strut was installed and the trailing arms were straightened, ran very well and caused no issues during the time I owned it) The exterior, impact area excluded, is in fairly nice condition. (The hood has a few scratches in it, trunk slightly dented, and small dings in certain areas throughout the body). Exterior color is a silver frost, Interior color is a dark graphite cloth. Interior is also in nice shape. (previous owner appears to have been a smoker, but the smell is certainly not overpowering by any means. Also, driver's seat also appears to have 2 very small burn marks in the material.) The faces of the dash components (ie. air conditioner temperature adjustment) have been partially scratched off, allowing the orange light to bleed through where exposed. Otherwise, there is no major interior damage. This was a very nice car to own and run before the transaxle incident occurred, and the motor was in too good of shape to justify scrapping the vehicle, so I hope this can be a help to someone as it will be good solution for someone looking for a good cheap motor option, or for someone who may currently have a used transaxle looking for a DIY project to run. Purchaser is responsible for arranging pick up and delivery of this vehicle. (Towing will be required as it is not able to be driven currently) If interested in hearing the motor, you may contact me on my cell phone (# 717-816-2071) to arrange a time to meet. As the seller for the vehicle in the listing, I reserve the rights to end this auction at anytime. I hope this listing will help out and thanks for your interest!
