Vehicle Detail
Runs like a dream! Second owner (bought in 1973); Garaged; Original engine, never overhauled (timing chain & gear replaced); NOaccidents or major body work. Some minor body work around back wheels near the skirts b/c of rust. • 127,433 original miles (had approx. 75,000 when bought in 1973) • 434ci engine (approx. 360hp) • Original paint &vinyl roof • Power steering • Power brake • Electric windows (all still work perfectly) • All original glass • 4-door • Electric seats • AC (works, needs a charge) • Good exhaust • All original hubcaps & wheel skirts • Rear defrost (working) • Original carpet and upholstery • All interior lights work including dashboard &courtesy lights in backseat. • Blue metallic paint (very dulled out at this point) There is a lot of wear on the driver side interior upholstery (seat & door) and the fabric on the top of the seats in the rear is not in very good shape - probably due to sun damage. The vinyl roof is damaged around the rear window. He added the oil pressure gauge (and whatever that other gauge is).The Odometer says 27,433 in this pix (remember when you "rolled it" at 100,000 miles!). There might be a couple more miles on it now, these pix were taken a few years ago, but it wouldn't be many as the plates have been off it for at least 6 years. I’m helping my dad sell this car. He treated it like his baby. It has been garaged for nearly the whole time he's owed it, and now, he'd like his garage back! Please contact me (Sue) & I’ll try to answer any questions. (It’s located on the south shore, Suffolk County.) I have more photos that I can email. Questions? Thoughts? Curious? email: susieq60@optonline.net. I'll try to get whatever answers you need. Please don't let it go to the junkyard. It just needs someone to love it.On Aug-17-11 at 18:52:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi All - Here's a quick update:• The car is 18' 4" long• The area that needs welding is a rusted spot on the frame underneath the driver's side door. I'm told that it's not a huge deal, but that my dad didn't want to deal with it. It would pass inspection, but in NYS, they don't pass/fail based on that. The passenger's side in the same spot is fine. On Aug-21-11 at 06:50:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi all - here's an update. My dad got it started. As some can attest it was running a roughly. (OK, not exactly the "like a dream" I originally said.)It has been sitting in the garage for at least 4 months w/o being started. It has old plugs, needed to be primed, hasn't has a tune up, new plugs or (new) gas, or an oil change, in a very long time. It was his everyday car till 5-6 years ago and was kept up and maintained regularly until then. It's been off the road for 5-6 years, and when it has been started (every 4-5 months), it has only run at an idle in the driveway. With no plates or insurance, we're not going to take it out and ride it around like it needs. Not exactly conducive for smooth running. Please remember that you are buying an OLD car. That you are buying it AS IS. And that I make no guarantees about anything mechanically on it. It has old rubber and old hoses. Old spark plugs, old gaskets, and 43-year old everything. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day.
