You are bidding on a 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 2+2 BT7 with the rare “works” (factory) hardtop. I’ve owned this car since 1973. In the early ‘80’s it was involved in a minor parking lot accident resulting in damage to the front shroud and grille. The attached picture of the damaged shroud (which doesn’t go with the car) and grille (which does go with the car) show the minor damage sustained. I believe the grill can be straightened by any good chrome shop. I started preparation for a complete repaint of the car using a nearly perfect shroud from a donor car, but lost interest in completing it. The car has been in dry storage since 1981 and I need to sell it to free up space for another project. This car is 98% complete and the engine was “pickled” with fogging oil when stored. It hasn’t been started since the early ‘80’s but the engine is not seized. It’s a good candidate for a complete restoration, or it could be cosmetically restored and driven very reasonably. Floors and trunk are rusted and probably need to be replaced. The original fenders and rocker panels were replaced with fiberglass parts from Perfect Plastics in the mid ‘70’s because new steel parts were not available at that time. Of course, if a complete restoration is undertaken, these parts can be replaced with the steel reproductions now available and the fiberglass parts should be easily sold. A non-refundable deposit of ten percent (10%) is due within 48 hours of this auction closing and can only be paid by PayPal. Full payment of the balance is due within 7 days of this auction closing and can only be paid by Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Money Order or certified funds in US dollars. Please be advised that you are responsible for all fees associated with the purchase of the vehicle including but not limited to taxes, title transfer and registration. Once full payment is received, I will provide a clear Ohio title, signed over to you and notarized. All paperwork necessary to have the vehicle titled in your state is your responsibility at your expense, including state sales tax, title fees, registration and any other applicable fees, . Any failure to complete the purchase within the time noted above will result in a non-payment complaint to Ebay and forfeiture of the deposit. In addition, the vehicle will be re-listed for sale. Delivery or Pickup You are responsible for all delivery costs and arrangements, or for picking up the car in Pickaway County, Ohio. If the vehicle cannot be picked up by you or your designated delivery service agent or driver within 14 days of the auction closing date you must call me in advance to make other arrangements. I can deliver the vehicle to the 48 contiguous states for $1 per loaded mile, but full payment for the car and delivery must be made, and funds must clear before delivery can be made. If you wish to use this service, arrangements must be made with me in advance. I do not provide or arrange financing or accept trade-ins and I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason.
