Vehicle Detail
1971 Chevrolet Corvette …”disassembled for your inspection”… I always wanted to begin an ad with that statement because I saw it in the 1980’s in the Charlotte Observer as it referred to a Chevy Vega…”disassembled for your inspection”…this car needs more than that…it needs a Shaman at the least… We purchased this ’71 Corvette about 7 years ago as it was a “garage find” at the time…however, that was a disassembled “garage find”…we don’t know for sure if all parts are there but there are many…including BOTH tops... It began life as a 1971 Chevy Corvette, automatic although the frame has now been converted professionally to a four speed (but we only have the automatic tranny, apparently the person that we purchased the car from didn’t get around to buying a 4 speed for the car), warbonnet yellow exterior with a saddle interior…and has a clear title… The wheels and tires are date coded correct, wheels and rubber…The frame is in good condition for its age, the body is as you see it, restorable but needing a lot of TLC…The LT1 hood is an add on…the car has both seats, all bumpers and headlight buckets…. Photos are broken down into the following categories: · 8 photos of the body · 2 photos of the frame · 1 photo of the date coded correct wheels and tires · 1 photo of the engine and tranny · 2 photos of the basket containing interior components · 2 photos of the basket containing front suspension · 2 photos of the basket containing rear suspension and drive member · 2 photos of the basket containing the fuel tank, etc. · 2 photos of the basket containing the front bumper, headlite buckets, lights, etc. · 1 photo of the serial number on the frame · 1 photo of this type of car restored to correct color, warbonnet yellow (last photo) Pricing is commensurate with condition…with the price of resto-mods, this car would be a good candidate for an engine upgrade and some “out of the box” thinking…look at it this way…the photos make great “before” photos… So, if you’ve ever had the hankering to resto-mod a C3 series Vette this if for you…if you have any questions call Bruce Kepley, Motorama Classic Cars, Monroe, NC, at 704-907-6495 Note: the last photo is of a 71 Vette with the same color as this car... Yes, the body number and the frame number match... The car has both tops, hardtop and soft top...it also was originally ordered with factory air, power steering and brakes... When valuing a car, add up the major parts costs and compare to the asking price...the prices of the parts for this car exceeds the conservative reserve price...the convertible top frame and the hardtop total at least 2k if not more... Yes, the car does include the dolly...
