up for auction is a 1977 trans am. this is a W72 400 4 speed Y82 special edition (bandit) .documented by PHS. this car has a numbers matching drivetrain that is in running condition. WA coded engine. not the original carb, but it has a good quad on it. borg warner t 10 4 speed with factory hurst shifter. posi rear with 323 gears. currently the car does have the incorrect color decals and the snowflakes are painted blue.the previous owner was unaware that this was a true bandit. it is a true documented bandit. what makes this car different than all the other bandits is that this was ordered with the rare firethorn red deluxe lombardy velour interior. power windows, power locks, a/c, rear defrost,tilt wheel. everything is there and working including the a/c, windows ,and locks. the a/c is complete and still holds a charge. im sure it will need recharged. for all of those who know the codes to these cars you will notice its coded a y82 which stands for a t top car. that would be correct because it appears the t top roof has been replaced by a hard top. making it a y81 clone but still a real y82. now as this is a real documented special edition, it has been neglected by other owners and is now a project car. this car is currently running but not drivable till some items are fixed. i have driven it around my property but that is all. things this car will need: pass side rear quarter is new but not finished installing. drivers side rear quarter needs lower patch. both front fenders need patched. complete trunk pan to be perfect as well as drop offs and outer wheel wells. rocker panel on passenger side the doors are very decent but will need cleaned up and new seam sealer. same for the trunk lid. tthe hood is rust free. the floors will need very little attention, for the most part they are 95 percent solid. just very small areas need fixed. both rear frame rails have rust in the lower front arch forward area. not a hard fix. also both are rusted behind the rear spring mounts close to the rear bumper. very common areas. the seats are pretty nice with no rips or tears, but do have a light fade in certain areas, the dash does have cracks and the lower door panels need replaced. ive tried to describe this car as hoestly as i can. im sure there are things im forgeting. please look at all of the pictures closely. the title states exempt on mileage but i feel the 84900 is correct due to the condition of some of the original parts. pa titles cars exempt after 10 years of age unless you specifically tell them the mileage. this car is a rare special edition as there where only 2,699 Y82 s/e cars with the W72 4 speed option out of all the 15,657 special editions made in 77 .how many of those do you think had RED firethorn deluxe interior with all those options? not to many. it would definately be an eye catcher when finished and different from all the other bandits at the shows. most of the ones out there have black or tan interior. please feel free to set up a time to see this car in person. this auction does have a small reserve, im not expecting a gold mine for this car , but im not giving it away. the reserve is set at what i feel the parts alone are worth. a 250.00 non refundable deposit is required within 48 hours and payment in full within 7 days. i can help with loading the car if needed, and possible delivery for a fee if within reasonable distance. nothing over 150 milesOn Aug-13-11 at 07:31:07 PDT, seller added the following information: the car is also for sale locally, so will have to end the auction if it does sell. if the reserve is met here it will sell to the highest bidder.
