Vehicle Detail
I've decided to finish up school and am selling my 75 Mercedes 240D. I haven't owned it for very long, as I was going to use it as a commuter car to travel to Arizona a lot, but I'm keeping my Jeep instead and focusing on school. It's been a great car for the time I've owned it. I drove it to Phoenix from northern Utah once and it ran like a champ. It gets somewhere around 25 to 27 mpgs. It starts up and runs perfect every time. I have fixed a couple things on it. I fixed the drivers side window so it rolls up and down now. The key wouldn't turn off, and I repaired that. I also fixed the dash lights so now they stay on. The dash does have a few cracks in it. I bought a dash mat and it looks really good on it. The A/C compressor wasn't attached, so I hooked that up. It just needs to be charged and have the compressor belt hooked up. I have the belt and retro-fit kit to charge with R-134a for the buyer. It's missing the hood ornament, but I will buy that for the buyer. It also needs a valve for the windshield washers to work. I will buy that for the buyer too. It will take about 3 seconds to hook up. Also, I don't think the front seats are stock. They still look good and are comfortable though. The body is in great shape and only has a dent right by the drivers side headlight. A body shop could easily fix it. There is only minor surface rust and nothing cancerous. I really wanted to take it in and paint it black and put whitewalls on it, but flight school is expensive! It's not a speed demon, but it hums along good at 70mph. Nobody tailgates you, as a nice puff of diesel smoke comes out when you hit the accelerator. The trunk is huge and it comes with some studded snow tires and sand bags. It has a trailer hitch too. The CD player works good and has an MP3 jack. The odometer reads just under 98,000, as it only shows 5 digits. The previous owner told me that he had a licensed mechanic inspect it and said the engine hasn't turned over yet. That seems like pretty low miles for a 1975 to me, but the engine does run great and looks clean. I've only owned this car for a few months and like I said before it's been a great car. I didn't want to sell it, but I need to sell it to someone who will use it more than I am. These cars run for a long long time and have a lot of character. I've received many complements while I've had it, especially on the hubcaps. It would look so good with a new paint job (unless light tan is your kind if thing!) Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can. This car is located in central Utah. I have it listed on a local online classified so I have the right to end the auction early if it sells. Thanks
