Vehicle Detail
REDUCED RESERVE! TWO matching 1955 Safari wagons with 8 cyl. StratoStreak engines. Only 3460 made 56 years ago and here are two originals. This was the two door sport wagon with the swept forward B column as seen on no other station wagon and was finished in the same fashion as the top of the line Star Chief. The front bumper design was so unique it received a U.S. patent. Both the Pontiac Safari and Chevy Nomad were modelled after a 1954 Corvette sport wagon concept car that was never produced. The Strato Streak was the first V-8 that Pontiac produce only for Pontiac and was the engine to beat all in their vehicls that year. Other GM brands shared engines. Since I have owned them they have remained out of the weather. A change in jobs makes it impossible for me to return to the rebuild. The "Boomershine" vehicle (not on stands) was repainted years ago in same colors as original. The body is overall very solid. The engine ran when I purchased it. The Second vehicle (on stands) has a locked up differential and was being dissembled. The curved glass and sliders are intact for both cars. Windshields and stainless steel prefab floors can be purchased new for very reasonable prices. These and most parts for 1955-57 Safari/Star Chief are the same for the 55-57 Chevy Nomad/Bel Air. A drive train for a more recent Mustang also matches the 1955 Safari and can be purchased new, if you wish to modernize. Great opportunity for rebuild of one and or chop the other. VIN for each is in the photos. Keys still in one vehicle! Photos include initial dissembled parts and odometer readings. Note intact curved glass and bumpers in photo of vehicle on stands. Both need complete rebuild.IF YOU WISH TO SPEAK WITH ME PLEASE SEND YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND I WILL CALL YOU BACK.
