Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is an extremely rare, low mileage, two owner California (code C03) 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet with factory 491 Turbo Look option. This is a real Turbo Look cabriolet, not a steel body conversion, and as enthusiasts are no doubt aware of, only a handful of these were produced for the United States in 1986. In addition to the 491 option, this car came from the factory with the even rarer 470 Spoiler Delete option. Only 34 cars with this configuration were produced for the United States in 1986. The original owner elected to have both front and rear Porsche factory spoilers added to the car, but these can easily be removed to bring the car back to its factory configuration. Additional options include 018 Sports Steering Wheel, 341 Central Locking System, and 454 Cruise Control. The Meteor Gray Metallic paint (code L961) is in great condition throughout, marred by a few rock chips and scratches typical of any carefully driven, low mileage 911. It retains its depth and luster and is one of Porsche's rarer colors for the 1980's, truly setting the car apart from the Guards Red, Black and Grand Prix White cars most often seen on the road. Upon closer inspection, some of the paint on the car may have been redone by the original owner, specifically the left rear quarter panel and passenger side door. However, it is an exact match to the original paint on the rest of the car. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition and has received regular maintenance throughout its life, as evidenced by the stamped service book (included in the sale). The car spent the first 24 years of its life in California, and has been garaged and occasionally driven in Summer around the New England area. The car has brand new tires (less than 1000 miles on them) and a fresh service in which a front wheel hub and break fluid was replaced. All electronics are functioning, with the exception of the passenger side power lock which I would pay to have fixed (manual lock still functions). The convertible top is in good condition but has wear areas consistent with original Porsche tops of this era and the rear window is crystal clear. The interior is in excellent condition, especially the leather seats, and is completely original with the exception of the stereo which is an original-owner-added 1980s Alpine tape deck. The speakers have also been replaced at some point in time. Included with the sale are the service book, all service receipts since I purchased it, original manual, original tool kit, Porsche floor mats, 1 main key, 1 valet key, 2 wheel lock keys, front bra, and car cover. Please contact me with any questions. I also have additional photos and videos and can provide further details if needed.
