This is a vehicle that we're selling on a parts basis BUT we have been informed by the NCDMV that a title can be obtained for the car since a serial number was found on the driver's side frame rail...see photo... The car is complete with an engine that TURNS OVER FREELY, both seats, gauges, tranny etc...this car will sell if for nothing other than for parts, but the body is actually too good to part out...the car appears to be free from even moderate dents and the only rust that we find on the outside of the body is under the driver's door near the jack tube, which appears to be easily repairable with just a small patch...looking at the inside of the sheet metal one can see that the original color of the car was silver...the only amount of filler evident on the car is where the owner tried to fill some side trim holes on the passenger side, why we have no idea...the darker "primer" that you see appears to be done with an aerosol can, very thin, and the major primer (lighter) appears to have been done to protect the metal... It has a removable roof for cruising and is a neat little 4 speed sports car...having looked at a few of these on the internet the car appears to be attractive and the writer of this description remembers fondly when a friend took him for a ride in his 1967 Datsun 2000 when it was brand new... This is a barn find in Monroe, NC, and is well worth the no-reserve starting price of $550 since the buyer could make money by parting out the car...there is no further pleasure than buying a car of this nature when your son is about 13 or 14 and getting him involved in the restoration with the intent for this to be his first car...personally I would restore the car by looking for any damaged trim parts first (southwest auto salvage yards) and then freshening up the engine...the bodywork will not be difficult since the car is small and pretty good condition, holding a refrigerator magnet on the bottom of all panels...
