Vehicle Detail

This is a 2000 Lincoln Continental. 60,500 miles! (No reserve!) We are the second owner within our family. One of the best cars ever made. Low miles and in great shape! Recent fixes: 4 brand new tires purchased in June (see the tire tread picture), 1 new battery purchased in July. This car is being sold AS IS. It’s been trusted for years, and we just recently took it on a trip to PA. Very comfortable ride. We outgrew it, or we would keep it. The Dealer offered me $3600 for the car, expecting to turn around and sell it for $5000-$5500. So I would rather offer it here, and someone gets it for less. The motor is big and powerful (V8), but manages to get respectable mileage at 17 city and I have achieved 25 highway on a long drive. The onboard computer will tell you how you are doing. It was serviced regularly (every 3k-5k miles). We just changed the oil in May, you can see that on the engine picture. It is in good shape in and out: · The interior is in good shape, all leather seats, some wear on passenger seat. No tears. The a/c and the heat work great, the radio and Cassette work, there is a compass in the rearview mirror that has an LED out, so E (East) looks like C. It has power windows and door locks, child locks for doors. It has more options then I care to list: seat position memory, preset climate control, air ride, etc. including a power sun roof. It was always a SMOKE FREE car. · The exterior paint is in great shape, there are normal wear and tear scratches, one big one from somewhere, this is pictured. There is no rust or dents. This car has been garage kept since it was new! Owners manual included. This is from Edmunds: http://www.cars.com/lincoln/continental/2000/ Exterior Continental is nearly 209 inches long but rides a relatively modest 109-inch wheelbase (same as the Buick Century). When Lincoln redesigned the Continental for 1995, it hoped the more contemporary look would attract younger buyers. That hasn't been the case, and sales have declined since. Interior Front bucket seats are standard, but a bench seat is a no-cost option that gives the Continental traditional six-passenger seating. However, Continental isn't wide enough to fit three across without cramping everyone's style. The 18-cubic-foot trunk is big enough to hold a foursome's golf clubs, and a low liftover makes loading and unloading easier. Under the Hood Continental comes with a 4.6-liter V-8 engine with 275 horsepower, matching the specs of the DeVille's base engine. The V-8 teams with a four-speed automatic transmission. Standard traction control helps get the power to the pavement, and standard anti-lock brakes help corral those 275 horses. Technology abounds in the Continental. Good Luck!On Aug-05-11 at 16:17:01 PDT, seller added the following information:Response to question I received: First response: Dear allornothing10, before I answer that all is well, when I get home tonight, I will inspect the rocker panels for any rust just to make sure, and I will make a clean spot on the shock towers (if they are what I think they are) so you can see its dust and not rust and post a picture with the response on ebay. Paul _______ Second response: Hi Tom, I confirmed that the rocker panels are rust free. This car was garage kept since it was purchased brand new in 2000. Its only got 60,500 miles, so it wasnt subjected to the elements too often when driving. The shock tower, if I got that right, is just dusty as is the rest of the engine. I attached a new picture where I wiped away some of the dust, so you can see the body paint color more clearly. Good luck! PaulOn Aug-05-11 at 16:19:41 PDT, seller added the following information:Original question: Dear pnl282, On the underhood picture it looks like rust on the drivers side shock tower and also on the passenger side of the picture, is that what I'm seeing. Also how are the rocker panels, these are a problem area on continentals for rusting? Thank you Tom
