Vehicle Detail
This is my 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door Hardtop (three on the tree). I am the 2nd owner. The car is all original and has never been repainted or restored. The radio still works and it starts, runs, and drives fine. The AC blows ice cold and is an original Ford factory unit. The odometer reads 110,000. There is absolutely no rust and has remained in Los Angeles County since 1963. This vehicle was purchased from the original owner (Marge). There isn't much to the story of this car, but at least I have a little history on this 1963 Galaxie. Marge's husband purchased a 1963 Ford Galaxie (for himself) brand new, exactly like the one I'm selling. The minute her husband brought the car home, Marge fell in love with it! She drove the car almost every day until her husband finally decided to buy her a car of her own. He went and bought the same exact Galaxie (brand new), color and all, and presented the Galaxie to her as a gift. He had a brass plate made which he had engraved "This car made especially for Marge Strack" and placed in the middle of the dash. This Galaxie was her everyday driver until she reached her late 70's and decided the 3 speed column was just too difficult to drive. She ended up trading the Galaxie in for a new Cadillac (automatic) which is how it came into my hands. The vehicle had basically never left Baldwin Park, CA until I purchased it. I live in Covina, CA which is only a 10 minute drive away. This car is all original from bumper to bumper. The paint for its age is in great shape. The interior could use some fixing. On some areas the seams are coming loose and the headliner towards the rear is starting to pull apart. The Galaxie has all correct matching numbers and has the original 390 T-Bird motor. I have recently replaced the hoses, belts, fluids, and both rear brake cylinders due to leaks from rarely been driven. I don't have the time to drive it anymore and I hate to see it sit in the garage. The other reason why I am selling the car is so that I can finish my other projects. This is an awesome car and it breaks my heart to let it go. I have loved owning this car and wouldn'tt hesitate to drive it anywhere!
