1991 Honda CRX SI 98,762 original miles immaculate condition. I am the 2nd owner, the original owner traded it in at a local dealership because the Ac stopped working, I was able to contact her after I purchased the car from the dealership. Her husband bought the car for her in 1991, since they did not have any on the lot, they special ordered this one as she wanted the Rio Red color. This car was one of the last CRX’s manufactured, the date on the door jam is 6-91. When I received it 18 years later it still had the protective wax sprayed on the engine bay from Japan (so the fasteners won’t corrode in the salty air during shipment). When it arrived at the dealership, they installed the floor mats, mud guards, and factory stereo as these were options back then. They didn’t even clean off the car before the owners were called to pick it up. When I got it, knowing CRX’s well I saw the wax and knew I had a gem of a car! I was amazed at how new the paint looked after I cleaned it off, the fasteners are bright and shiny not a speck of rust anywhere. I kept the CRX in a storage bay starting it up once a month letting it run for 20 mins. Sometimes I would drive it on short trips just to enjoy this amazing little car! I always kept the gas tank full with premium 93 octane and a little staybill fuel stabilizer as I never used much of the gas. The engine fires up every time after 2-3 cranks, engine is very clean pull the oil cap and it is not even slightly tinted brown. The motor has never been apart all inspection marks are there even the brake rotors (picture included) the pads are still original and have lots of life left as well as the yokohama AS 430 tires. Since I owned it March 2009, I put about 5-600 miles on it. It drives like new and it gets a lot of looks and compliments when I drive it. It’s currently titled in my name. I contacted the original owner about what service the car had prior to my ownership and the following was done. Before I owned it; timing belt and water pump 70k 1998. AC was serviced at a Honda dealership in ‘05 but I believe they put too much oil in the system, I had to replace almost every part of the Ac except the lines. Muffler and exhaust are original and appears very clean, no rust on it. The original owner told me that the car never gave them any problems and served them well but they did tell me that in 1996 someone backed in the front left side of the car. The bumper and left headlamp were replaced with new parts from Honda. I took off the bumper while installing the Ac and noticed that no damage was done to the car and the bumper as well as the bumper reinforcement was replaced. I could not tell the bumper lines up perfect even the tow hooks were straight. The Hood, fenders are original the previous owner told me that she had the driver side repainted when the repair was done at that time because of a scratch on the door. This CRX is in mint condition for a 20 year old car all the body moldings and trim pieces are still soft with no cracks. This car has been garaged kept it’s whole life. This car was purchased in Merritt Island, Fl. and never left the area. This CRX is the best I think you will find anywhere there is so little evidence of it even being driven at all the pictures just don’t do it justice. I will assure you will be pleased at seeing this car I thanked the previous owner for taking such good care of it for all those years and her reply was, “it was my baby” here is a list of parts that I replaced since I owned it . I have all the receipts and original parts. Please do not call/email me asking the reserve. All parts were purchased from American Honda. 11 ‘09 Replaced the sunroof panel and gasket retainers. Panel is matched painted and retainers are powder coated. I sealed the gasket so the sunroof would not rust again. 11 ’09 I replaced the climate control panel, this unit is weak on these cars. I reinforced the new unit before I installed it so it won’t crack in the future. 12 ‘09 Replaced front center cap oem 07 ‘10 Replaced R Headlamp oem 05 ‘11 Replaced throttle cable 07 ‘11 Replaced interior fan switch 07 ‘11 Ac was converted to R134 A. I replaced the following items: New not rebuilt sandon TR 90 compressor Condensor Evaporator Expansion valve O rings (all) Dryer “AC BLOWS ICE COLD!!!!! I changed the following fluids on 7-21-2011 Brake; Honda Dot 3 Coolant; Honda type II Blue (Drained Block as well as Radiator) Transmission; Honda MTF 1.9 quarts fluid came out as clear as new fluid that I put in A.C.; 6oz pag 46w dye R134A 1.5 lbs. Engine Oil; castrol 10w30 3.5q Filter; OEM Honda I have inspected the following: Interior in perfect shape it has never been modified in any way the seats do not have any wear/stains especially at the entry/exit points that usually get wear. The pictures make the seats look weird in the center but it’s just the flash on the camera. The Dash and center console are in perfect shape no cracks the steering wheel is like new and does not have any wear on top as well as the shifter and the clutch /brake pedals. Look new as well. Spare tire has never been used. Every light button and switch work like they did when the car was new, the flash on the camera shows every spec of dust, I promise the interior is very very clean. The cargo cover in the back is still together and fabric is still black. The car has no rust whatsoever. The clutch and shifter work perfect . Body has miner scuffs in paint on right rear quarter and some tiny dings as expected for it’s age. But the overall finish is really clean. Body exterior is 9.5 out of 10. Interior is 10 out of 10 Knobs are not worn, Carpet is plush and not faded, Seats firm. Interior smell! Still after 20years this car still smells like it’s new It runs drives and stops like brand new, it does not pull either way, the steering wheel is perfectly centered and is very tight. The car has never been driven hard and it has never needed any major repairs just routine maintenance.
