Vehicle Detail
This wonderful classic Mercedes has provided me with reliable transportation, in harsh winter conditions and even starts the first time on the coldest mornings here in Lake Tahoe, California. This vehicle has been fitted with new fuel lines and runs well on biodiesel or regular diesel and features an oversize Bosch injection system that is standard for the 1984 model and is favored by biodiesel enthusiasts. The tie rods and steering box were replaced to improve handling. Although the engine has 213,000 miles, that's not considered excessive with these rugged 5 cylinder Mercedes diesel engines, which are incredibly sturdy and known to last a million miles. Several mechanics have remarked that this engine seems smoother and more powerful than most. It certainly runs smooth and cruises easily at 75 mph. I don't know why AutoCheck is not showing a history report on this vehicle, but it is properly registered and has no hidden defects that I am aware of. The tires are in excellent condition and have sipes for better traction on ice. The interior of the vehicle is watertight and the sunroof makes a tight seal. People definitely notice this car, because of the Aztec Red body color and the classic W123 body style that is instantly recognized as a classic Mercedes. Although this vehicle has provided reliable transportation, it is not without problems. The paint is faded, the A/C doesn't work, the clock and odometer just died. The horn doesn't work. The spring is broken on the hood and the front passenger door handle is loose. There is a tear in the headliner, about three inches long. Also, there is a small rust spot on the body. I purchased this classic Mercedes, so I could create my dream biodiesel vehicle. I've spent several thousand dollars to restore it mechanically. The only reason I'm parting with this beauty is because I've moved to Tahoe. I really need to sell it immediately and purchase a 4x4 instead. Tire chains are also included. So far as I know, this car has ever been in an accident. Vehicle sold as is. Deposit of US $500.00 within 72 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close.
