I got this car from a business friend who was an auto dealer. I had told him since I was moving to the south, I needed a convertible. He asked me to come over and see his "special" car. This car was a one owner and kept in a garage. I am actually owner 2 and 3. I sold it to my second business when I moved to SC . I have had nothing but joy driving it, although this is my 1st BMW, I am comparing it to my previous car , a Lexus. Everything works except for the hood open holder (see photos showing that I used a blue broom handle (included) to hold the hood open). The roof is original and in great shape, but the rear window was replaced last year (the old one was brittle and cracked). There have been no accidents, not even a bump. Although there are some highway rock and parking lot door dings and little scratches. There is one small rock chip in the window that happened about 4 years ago. It is above the driver's head area. This car does not look like it, but is 14 years old. If you please, take a look at the pictures, they are high resolution and show everything mentioned. As to the reported accident, the date is before I owned the car and there is no sign that the trunk hood is not the original. In 8 years I have had no issues with handling, acceleration, stopping or really anything. This car has been magnificent. As a point of full disclosure I am listing everything that I had worked on or repaired (see at the bottom of page).
