Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300 SD Turbo Diesel Sedan with an automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The car is in rough shape peeling paint, multiple areas of rust, some dry rot in the interior. The car runs and drives but has a severe transmission fluid leak. Mileage for the vehicle is unknown, but the odometer is stuck at over 250K miles. It has a 3.0L Inline 5-Cylinder Turbo Diesel Engine. All of the power windows and sunroof need work. There are 4 Spare wheels included in the sale some of them have tires mounted, one of them is damaged. There are 2 Ignition keys. The hood ornament is in the glove box. There is a ton of original paperwork with the vehicle, along with some Mercedes repair manuals. The vehicle is available for viewing by appointment. I bought the car in January of 2010 and used it as a commuter for work for about 9 months. I put a brand new drive line, carrier bearing, and battery ($550+) in the car when I picked it up as the previous owner said it had a vibration and the battery needed replaced. I saw an average of approximately 25 MPG. The fuel injection system on the motor is mechanical and can be easily converted to run on "Grease" or vegetable oil. The vehicle is being sold "AS-IS" with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for all shipping. I work a lot, but I will try and answer any questions as quickly as I can. Thanks for your time. On Jul-20-11 at 20:45:08 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I would also like to add that the tires on the vehicle are in moderate condition. They hold air and I would drive on them. But there is some weathering and wear, and they would need replaced sooner rather than later.
