Perfect vehicle for summer driving! Single owner, we needed a larger vehicle after the birth of our daughter and purchased an SUV. The beetle has become our third vehicle and is only driven on nice days for short trips around town. New tires, new brakes, new windshield, mechanically sound. Minor rear bumper scuffs from other cars parallel parking. Dime sized ding in the lower driver side door. The car has been fully evaluated by a certified mechanic. There have been a few questions about the auto check coming up with an issue under accident, this vehicle has been involved in an accident. The vehicle was parked in Federal hill on a narrow two way street and a driver misjudged the amount of space that they had when moving over as another vehicle approached heading in the opposite direction. The driver clipped the rear driver side fender over the back wheel, the bubbled fender is actually made out of plastic and was cracked. The vehicle also scratched the left corner of the rear bumper. This was a low speed accident, and the vehicle that struck the Beetle was a much larger vehicle (Lexus SUV) and is why the damage was high on the fender and bumper. There was absolutly no structural damage or repairs to the structure or allignment, this was a complete cosmetic fix (all of the parts that were affected were plastic). Police were involved because the individual was shady and I felt that a report was needed. The total for the fix was 2200.00, this included a new fender, bumper, labor and a paint job.
