Vehicle Detail
Here is my original1968 Camaro convertible RS. Power convertible top. Butternut yellow paint, from the 80's lots of little dings and scratches but looks real good. 327 engine original I was told. rebuilt mild in the 90's... was told from the guy I bought it from he had put less than 500 miles on it since the rebuild. I have put another 500 on it since I bought it last year. Transmission is a manual 5 speed, not original. It is a Doug Nash 4+1. When I bought the car last summer I had the transmission rebuilt and new clutch pkg put in it as well. This summer I installed power steering, it is a second generation box so the car drives like a more modern car, (I LOVE it!) I also had the interior re-upholstered last winter, it's not stock but looks and feels great as the seats were rebuilt as well. This summer I rebuilt the power top hydraulic pump and replaced the rams that operate the top. Works real good. I also replaced the shocks and the starter with a heavy duty model. This camaro is very fun to drive and I get lots of compliments. I would not be selling but I have only one garage space and my grandfather has now given me another classic. Because it is my grandfathers I feel compelled to keep it and let this car go. Lastly, there is some rust, what little there is, is mostly surface. The trunk is 90% of it but it is very solid. It is very early and in fact I don't think there is any major rot (but that is my opinion) this car is a great daily driver, fun and runs great but like I said, it is in need of a total restoration. So if you are looking for a fun and attractive driver or you are looking for something to drive until you are ready to restore, this is your car. I hate to get rid of her as she is such a fun car but I can't keep both vehicles. Oh, the top looks new on the outside but it is from the 80's as well, has two or three 1/2 inch cracks in its side (driver side and hard to see). The top is soft, looks really good on the outside, keeps the water out but is also in need of replacement someday. I would advise you all to call me or ask me here with questions, Anthony 814-758-0645. If you want to come see the car, please do. Located in Beaver, PA. I want you to know what your getting before you come get it. If you want it looked at by a mechanic and would like to pay for it I can schedule that for you as well. Just so you know again, this car is not perfect cosmetically, runs and drives great but is in need of new paint and some trim pieces. It is a running, very drivable and fun, project that you will enjoy as much as I do. Oh I have the original intake and carb, the original hood, a convertible boot cover, the original side mirrors and the original manual steering box that goes with.
