Vehicle Detail

The Good: Mechanically sound car. Very easy to drive for a manual tranny. Needs nothing for inspection. Only 43k on the odometer. This car is pretty fast. The engine in this one is the larger 138b (1498cc) vs. the smaller 128a (1290cc). The wheels are original Bertone with the center caps removed. I am missing one but will throw them on and take some more pics. The Fiat X1/9 is a two-seater mid-engined sports car designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982 and subsequently by Bertone from 1982-1989.[3][6] With a transverse engine and gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive configuration, the X1/9 was noted for its excellent handling,[3][7] lightweight-removable hardtop, front and rear-storage compartments — and for being designed from its conception to meet the late 60s U.S. safety regulations. The Bad: The car has been sitting for about 16 months. I have started and moved it a few times, but needs to be used more frequently. She is not currently registered nor inspected but will pass on both accounts. The car will be stiff and sleepy after her nap (and probably a little cranky). I plan on uploading a few more pictures. The Ugly: There is rust forming on the rocker panels, engine lid, and rear storage lid. One of the headlights won't go down unless you do it manually. The cd player is malfunctioning. The roof leaks a bit. A small burn and a 1" seam starting to tear on the drivers seat. The paint is not the best. some chips and checks ( roof being the worst) but over all still a head turner. The door cards need to be remounted. They are starting to fall off the doors. Probably from the 5" speakers making it to heavyI will work with the buyer on getting this car shipped or if you are from NY, get it inspected if you want to drive it home.
