Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1958 Edsel Pacer 4 door hardtop. This is a good solid running car. It has been off the road for about 30 years. Most of that time is was parked inside. For a few years it was outside. This car was recently serviced and is now driveable. The following has been done to the car recently either by me or the previous owner; Gas tank removed, cleaned, and sealed. New brake wheel cylinders installed, system flushed. New brake shoes and drums turned. The tires were brand new about ten years ago but only have about 10 miles on them. Carburetor rebuilt. Complete tune up. New fuel pump installed. Transmission fluid drained and replaced, new pan gasket installed. New pinion seal installed and rear end oil drained and new added. Dual exhaust system. The engine sounds very strong and runs smooth. I am told that the miles indicated are original, and by looking at the car that would appear correct. I will try to list all of the things that work or don' work; WORK: speedometer, compass, interior lights, horn, fuel gauge, turn signals, park lights, tail lights, gen. light, oil light, reverse lights, even the clock works! DON'T WORK: Radio, wipers (try to move), The overall condition of the car is what I would call could. With some clean up and a few adjustments and repairs the could be used as a driver, or it would make a great candidate for a restoration project. You could drive this car and work on it at the same time. EXTERIOR: All of the paint is original so nothing is covered up. All of the stainless trim is straight but could be polished. All of the glass is could with the exception of the drivers door, also a small chip in the windshield. All of the glass has the original FoMoCo script. There is a small dent on the lower right rear qtr panel. There is also rust under the drivers side headlight. The rockers are very solid as is the floor with only a small 2" hole right under the gas pedal. Most of the floor still wears the orginal primer put on at the factory. A very solid car. The ext. chrome for the most part is good. The bumpers could be polished and used as a driver and is straight. The pot metal pieces have some very minor pitting, nothing to bad. The outside rear view mirror is missing as is the radio antenna. Also missing the center of the hood ornament. There is a small tweak on the passenger side fender by the leading edge of the door. The paint is faded and worn in several places. INTERIOR: The interior is all orginal and not redone. The seats are still wearing the plastic covers that were probably put on when the car is new. The new owner will have the opportunity of removing them to find what is hiding underneath. Door panels and in good conditon. Original floor mat is still in place but showing wear in the front. The tele-touch shifts nice. The signal search radio does not work. The heater seems to work and the fan comes on with switched. This car has several options; Powers steering, heater, station-seeking radio, electric clock, compass, full wheel covers with appliques and spinners, back-up lights, rocker panel moldings, courtesy lights, tri-tone paint, bumper guards, and probably some others. The engine is the 361 cu.in. E-400 that puts out 303 hp. The transmission is the three speed automatic with Teletouch control.
