Up for auction is a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT that needs some engine work. The engine has a broken crankshaft (see photo) and does not run. The transmission was working fine. My wife is the second owner of this vehicle and she purchased it from a family member years ago. The exterior of the vehicle is in good shape considering this is a 13 year old vehicle. There are a few chips on the front of the hood. There is some rust beginning around the left rear quarter panel. The right rear rim is starting to peel. The tires are a couple of years old, but still have plenty of life. The interior of the vehicle is in great shape. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. There are no stains. The cigarette lighter by the radio is missing. The digital compass display by the sunroof comes and goes at times. This has been a great family vehicle. I am selling because of the cost to repair/replace the engine as I do not have the knowledge to do this myself. This would be a great vehicle for someone who is able to fix this thing up.
