Vehicle Detail
This is a 1910 Ford Model T touring car. This is an ice cream getter. I don't like car shows so this one has never been through that. The engine is an open valve with serial number 15431. The stub shaft is marked 12/30/09 and the build date is 1/25/10. I bought this car out of a museum in 1993. Since then I have been trying to make it as original as I can. The motor was totally professionally rebuilt and nothing was spared in it. The hogs head is the correct square topped aluminum. The hogs head has been broken and repaired around one of the front bolt holes. The oil pan is not the correct. I put a rebuilt coil ring in it when it was rebuilt but it has never worked. The car runs very well on a 12v battery. The radiator was new just this winter. The coilbox is a correct Kingston and there are 4 coils with it. The coils were swelled when I got them. I got new points for them and tried to rebuild them with new capacitors. Three of them work but one of them I just can't make work. I usaually have a metal coil box on the dash with newer style coils. The front axle is the correct type for the one piece spindles which it has. The frame, gas tank, spings, shackles, windshield, sheet metal, top irons, top, hood former, dash, steering column, steering wheel, headlights, sidelights, taillight and intake manifold are all correct for 1910. To make the car correct you would need the rearaxle housing, torque tube and carburator. The lights are not reproduction so they do have some age cracks in them. The seats are the original leather and they have rips and some pieces missing but because they are the original leather I just haven't been able to bring myself to take them out. We did put in a new front seat spring this winter but put the old upholstery back on it. The wheels are the wood felly, non-demountable type but I'm not sure if they are the correct ones for 10. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me. If you are the lucky winner I would have to have $1000 deposit within 3 days of auction close with the balance due in 7 days and before pickup. Any shipping would have to be arranged by the buyer. I have tried to be as honest as I can be about the car but there are probubly things that I overlooked in the discription. This is a 101 year old car so there are some minor dings and scraps in the paint. This is a true 1910 with most of the original parts and they are not easy to come by. Good luck!
