Vehicle Detail

I’m selling my 1977 MGB. It has 50,000 original miles. Mileage will increase slightly as I drive the car occasionally. This MGB has been a south Texas car it’s entire life and I’m the 2nd owner. When I obtained the car in 2002 it had been sitting in a local garage since early 1982 with approx 40,000 miles. The previous owner parked it after their family grew too large for everyone to fit in an MGB. Needless to say when I got the car it was in non-running condition but was very solid. I’ve had it on the road since 2004. It runs great and is ready to drive anywhere. The vehicle is available to see while the auction is going on. Contact me thru Ebay’s “contact seller” button for details and to arrange a time. This car is not a pristine show car, it is a very nice, rock solid driver. I have the service records since I’ve owned the car and the original registration paperwork. Auction includes a Hayes and Chiltons workshop manuals and the Official MGB Drivers Handbook. All the electrical items work with no fuss. It drives great, tracks straight and brakes well. The interior is in very nice condition. Top is very nice with clear plastic windows. The body is straight with very nice paint and trim. No rust bubbles. Tires have a lot of life left 85+% Has the original undercoating. Frame and castle rails in great condition. Runs great, uses no oil, leaks a tiny bit (it is a British car after all) The body was stripped to bare metal and repainted the original color - Glacier White. New dog legs were installed at this time due to small (dime sized) rust bubbles. At this time the car was thoroughly inspected for rust and the dog legs were the only areas found to have any. I’m hesitant to call any vintage car “rust free” but this is about as close as you can get! The bonnet (hood) and passenger side wing (fender) were replaced due to shoddy fender bender repairs around the headlight bucket. No structural damage was found under the fender. I’ve performed the following repairs / upgrades to the car: Pulled the engine and transmission. Checked engine main bearings. Sandblasted and repainted engine compartment Painted floorboards and boot floor with POR-15. Waxoyl sprayed into every nook and cranny accessable. http://www.waxoyl-usa.com Dynamat installed in doors, floors and bulkhead. Installed rebuilt 4-synchro Overdrive Trans. New brake master cylinder, rebuilt front calipers, new rear wheel cylinders. New clutch master and slave cylinders. New Clutch and pressure plate. Lightened and balanced flywheel. Goodrich SS braded lines for all brake and clutch hydraulic lines. Rebuilt steering rack w/ new boots. Kingpins checked and serviced. Weber carb and early MGB exhaust manifold PECO exhaust system. Removed smog pump. Converted to GM alternator. Flushed cooling system. Rebuilt heater box. Distributor re-curved by Advanced Distributors. advanceddistributors.com Petronix ignition and Coil. Pieces of 8 bonnet and boot struts. www.mgstruts.com Rebuilt front suspension with Poly bushings Moss front lowering springs. New fuel tank. Rebuilt Fuel pump and flushed fuel lines. Prestige convertible top http://www.prestigeautotrim.co.uk Prestige carpet kit http://www.prestigeautotrim.co.uk Prestige seat covers http://www.prestigeautotrim.co.uk Trunk Carpet kit New Seat Belts. Seat Belt holders www.clarkandclarkinc.com/1198_seatbeltguide.htm Alpine AM/FM/MP3 Sony 10-disk CD changer w/ remote What I think the car needs: Speedometer calibrated to overdrive transmission Rear suspension lowered A loving owner with time to enjoy this great classic car!!!!!! Terms of Sale: $500.00 non-refundable deposit due via Paypal within 24hrs of auction ending. Remaining balance due in CASH or by U.S Postal Service money order upon pick-up, delivery or prior to vehicle delivery at shippers. Buyer is responsible for making all shipping arrangements. On Jun-28-11 at 13:53:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 6/28/11: I've had several questions about shipping. I'd be happy to deliver the car with around a 150mi radius of Houston Texas for a small fee ( How does lunch or dinner sound?) - as long as your OK with me driving the car. I'm also happy to deliver or meet with the shipper of your choice and drop the car off locally. And will document the condition of the car prior to loading and send your the photos. I'm hesitant to give the reserve price out but will say that it's only a little higher than the "Low Retail" listed in the NADA classic car blue book. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1977/MG/MGB/Mark-IV-2-Door-Roadster/Values
