Vehicle Detail
This is a 1966 mustang coupe with a 289 engine, automatic 3 speed transmission. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuild in 2004 and have under 20,000 miles on them. Both are in great shape and there are no leaks anywhere under the car. The pain job was done by superior auto body here in town in 2006. The car was sanded down, sprayed with a rust seal and repainted red with white stripes. There was no rust on either the body or the frame of the car prior to painting and there is currently no signs of rust anywhere on the car. The interior of the car has some updates done to it as well all done from 2008-2010. New headliner with no rips, new driver and passenger seat upholstery has been recovered. The rear seat is in good condition but i have a new rear seat cover that comes with the car. The are currently no rips on any of the seats. The floor carpet is new as well and has no rips in it. Steering wheel is original as well as speedometer/fuel gauge/ water temp gauge/ and oil pressure gauge. The speedometer gauge needs to be re-calibrated to the tires that are currently on the car, but is only off by 5mph.Over all dash is in great condition and has no signs of cracks. Heater has been replace as well and is in great working condition. The engine and engine cavity are all rust free. Engine runs great and starts up on the first turn of the key, no gas pumping needed. Like i said above, it is a 289 with a 2-barrel with headers carburetor and is a very good running car. Underneath the car has been kept fairly clean, no rust anywhere under the car, floor pans and everything else are all original. Rear axle of the car has zero rust as well. Its the standard 8.8 inch rear end with mid 300 gears, no posi-trac, installed, it has been well maintained. Gas tank has been replace in 2009 and trunk of the car has no rust. the steel of the trunk has been painted black with a mild clear coat, but does not have the carpet in it. trunk seal has been replaced in 2006 and does not leak. The overall body of the car is straight, no dents or scratches on the car. Of course i couldn't keep restoring the car because i recently bought a 65 fastback which i why i want to sell the coupe. i just don't have the time nor the money to restore two cars. On that note i will go on to the things that are needed to complete the restoration of the car. While these are things that need to be fixed on the car, i assure you that they don;t prevent one from driving and enjoying the car. The wiper motor works and the blades run but they seem to have a synchronizing problem that needs to be looked at, one runs a bit faster than the other. Non of the roll down window seals have been replace and are showing signs of cracking and a bit of leaking when you wash the car from the top of the windows. The previous owner of the car decided to cut in a stereo to replace the old am one, while they did a good job doing it and the cuts are all perfect, its still a cut out dash. i have done the liberty of installing a cd/mp3 player in the slot where they cut the dash, as of 2006. All glass windows are in fair shape. All the chrome on the car is in good shape, rear chrome bumper has been replaced in 2008. As for the pain job, the only signs of cracking are right above the windows where the drip edge meets the chrome, i understand this to be typical of mustangs. The last thing that may need some attention to is the front left blinker, it works exterior of the car but the light doesn't light up inside the dash, may be a burnt out bulb. Overall i loved this car, and it has always been a pleasure to cruise around town, it defiantly gets some positive feed back from those whooping at me as they drive by. Its a Great, reliable car, and would be a great project to finish. This car is for sale locally and is being sold as/is, i retain the right to cancel the auction at any point.Thank you for your time and gl bidding.
