1996 Chevy Tahoe 4X4 LT, runs great. THE GOOD: In the last year that I have owned this truck I have done the following work- Both upper ball joints and control arm bushings, one lower ball joint, both rear shaft u-joints, rear brakes, both front headlights, wiper linkage, wipers, air conditioning compressor, manifold lines, receiver/dryer, orifice tube, and evac and recharge, intake manifold gasket, water pump, all hoses, coolant flush, 4 tires, 4 KYB shocks, drivers side exterior door handle, two front seats, 4 new pioneer interior door speakers, air filter, fuel pump, left front axle, serpentine belt, brake light switch, transmission mount, transmission (USED), and shift cable. The shocks and 2 rear tires are less than a 2 months old. rest of work has been done in the last year. THE BAD: The transmission is slipping and not shifting into 3rd or overdrive. I dropped the pan and changed the fluid and filter, but the problem is still there. Just had it at the trans shop, they say it needs a rebuilt and quoted me at $1200.. Im done putting money into this truck. Put in a trans and have a nice cruiser. The only other things that I know it needs are a outer tie rod end on the right side, and door pins and bushings on both front doors. I have two pin and bushing sets and the tie rod end and they are included in the sale. As you will see in pictures 2 front seats are tan and interior is burgundy. The drivers seat broke so I got one from the yard, but it didn't look right with one being different so I grabbed the passenger seat too. The truck runs well, its has many dings and dents on it its a good ten footer. I washed and waxed it regularly so it shines up pretty good. seats in front have normal wear, but a set of seat covers will take of everything. My loss is your gain I'm just tired of putting money into this truck, its a good runner, just needs the trans and minor steering part and its good.
