Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1970 GTO 455 PONTIACACTUAL MILEAGE: 84,480...and counting PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING OR MAKING AN OFFER! AND PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! My wife purchased this GTO for me in 1998 and I never imagined I would ever sell it, but alas it has to go. This is a real 242 GTO, not a clone or a tribute car. Please ask if you have any questions whatsoever. This GTO has been garage kept since the car has been in my possession and the car has not been smoked in since I've owned it. The engine and transmission work was done while I owned the car. the GTO was stored with minimum mileage during 2004 and 2011 while we were raising our family. Our first son was born in 2004 and I found that my priorities had changed. The description is as accurate as I believe it could be, but please ask questions if there's something you need to know that's not noted below or require more clarification and I will answer every one....what a fantastic car...Thank you! BODY (Cardinal Red original) 242 GTO 1) 2 Door Hard Top Good 2) Original sheet metal w/1 repaint 15/20yrs old (Cardinal Red) painted before I owned the car and is still shiny but should be repainted to look perfect. 10 footer! 3) Chrome rear Bumper Excellent original condition 4) Front Enduro Bumper (some paint chips but rubber is in great cond.) Installed is a year correct GTO YC 455 power plant. The current 455 was purchased and rebuilt in 2004 utilizing the guide to a Pontiac Magazine 560HP build-up. I chose to use cast-iron 1969 #62 casting cylinder heads ILO the Edelbrock aluminum RPM’s as mentioned in the article. The 455 however different by the differential in cylinder head spec. produces an immense amount of power. This motor has not been dyno tested however so the true horsepower and torque can only be speculated. I can tell you that this engine is healthy! If the buyer is unable to satisfy the payment requirements the car will be re-listed and a negative feedback will be given to the buyer, sorry, but it takes much to list a car including insertion and 1st bid fees not to mention my time of generating and waiting through the auction process.
