Vehicle Detail

Hi all, Up for sale is my 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Classic with only 9,500 original miles on the odometer. I believe only 2,500 of these models were made in 1978, and had a two-tone chocolate brown/tan color scheme that was painted by American Sunroof Corporation for General Motors. It was a factory option. This car has all the bells and whistles, including-- 1. Air conditioning (nice and cold) 2. Power driver/passenger seat (work) 3. Cruise control (works) 4. Power windows (work) 5. Twilight sentinel (works) 6. Guidematic headlamp control (works) 7. 8-track tape player and CB radio (work) 8. Remote trunk release and power pull down (work) 9. Outside temperature thermometer (works and is accurate!) 10. Electric clock (works--that's right, it still works! keeps perfect time) I'm probably missing a few other options, but that's the majority of them. In short, everything works. This is an unmolested, all original vehicle. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Paint and chrome are beautiful and have a nice shine. Bumper fillers are original and in good shape, though they could use some touch up work. There are NO cracks in the fillers at all. Paint is very shiny and in great shape for a 70s GM lacquer job. Aside from the miles, the best part of this car is the underbody. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN UNDERCOATED OR RUSTPROOFED!!! The undercarriage is about as factory original as it gets. Look at the gas tank--that is not a replacement. Paint remains on the lower engine block. Areas behind wheels are free of stone chips. Bottoms of doors, back window area, underbody, and the entire car are rust free. I don't think this car has even seen rain. Vinyl top is perfect. This very car was also photographed for Collectible Automobile magazine. On the interior, there's not much to say. Seats and bolsters are just about brand new in the front and rear. Carpet is excellent. Dash is great. EVEN THE ELECTRIC CLOCK WORKS and keeps perfect time. Car has newer tires, but I kept the GM Uniroyal spare tire with the sticker still on it. The original owner apparently purchased the full-size spare as he didn't like the cheap donut space saver that came with the car when new. The only issue the car has is a few paint chips on the bumper fillers and the glove box latch is a bit finnicky. Fuel gauge is off, but accurate. Reads 1/2 tank when full and empty when empty. On Jun-22-11 at 20:30:13 PDT, seller added the following information: By the way, the car runs/drives like new. Engine/trans are in excellent condition. No unusual noises or smoke, ever. If you remove the oil fill cap, there is absolutely no varnish on the valve cover or head.On Jun-24-11 at 17:57:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Update #2: I also forgot to mention that I have the original owner's manual, and a folder containing ALL maintenance records (oil changes, maintenance, etc.) from 1982 when the previous owner purchased the car with 300 miles on the odometer through 2005 when he passed away. At that time, the car had 9,006 miles on it. As late as 1989, the car had just 550 miles on it. This folder will go to the new owner.
