Vehicle Detail
dmclcdtv&fp Store Mileage is approximate but cannot be verified as the dash cluster had been replace . I am going to list this as a parts car although it does run and was driven up till last winter . I have had this car probably around 19 years and it was not running at the time I bought it . It was an original electronic fuel injected car .It didn't run then I cleaned out the fuel tank and put a new fuel pump in the tank also. The instrument cluster was not working but The car did run after that. It also has some really neat electronics like a computer and digital read out instrument cluster . I had replace the instrument cluster with a used one because it did not light up at all. Unfortunately when you do this the true mileage is unavailable and you inherit the mileage from the used car that the panel came from .I know the approx miles from talking to the original owner and inspection records . it is probably a bit over 50K. I never really drove it alot just something to work on shine up and put money into ,just a toy basically. If you have any knowledge of these 81'82,83 Imperials they were one of the first to introduce electronic fuel injection so it was a bit buggy and had a few drive-ability problems (like not starting up all the time ) I tried to tolerate this and tried several things to correct it but parts were expensive and mostly unavailable for the fuel injection . Back when these cars were new Chrysler contacted buyers and gave them a choice to convert these to carburetor with a kit ,these may be still available but I did not want to pay $5000.00 or more for it . Not all owners went for the changeover as most of these went to wealthy people costing I was told by the owner sticker price on these was $ 24k a pile of money back in 1981 (even now ) You could get a loaded out Cordoba for 10-12 k and it was basically the same car. I am fairly mechanically incline and converted it to a carburetor when I got tired of wondering if it was going to not start one day with parts from another 318 car w/o fuel inj. about a year or so after I got the car . I still have all the old stuff I took off . I also have both shop manuals for it ,all goes along for the final price. To keep from explaining in every single detail I just need to get rid of it so I am selling it as is, as a parts car and at a very low price . You can actually get in start it up and drive it but the inspection has expired . It bothers me to look out and see it just sitting there,in the weather now . I always hoped someone would see it and want to buy it but Chrysler lovers are scarce around here.If it was a Chevy it would be gone already. If you are looking for one of these it is in very restore able condition and with a bit of body work sand and paint and fix some dings and dents ,a new headliner and cleaning up it would be a decent classic . Or another possibility, which is what I really wanted to do , a cool one of a kind pro street car with a new style Hemi stuffed in it . Due to age and health issues I don't work on stuff like I used too so it sets outside and is starting to rust a bit . So far I don't see any holes, there are a few dents.Look at the picks ,I am unable to crawl around underneath so assume it has some rust under there from setting out side . Truthfully with a few bucks and work it could be road worthy again if you are a do it yourselfer mechanic. I just want to let someone else do that now ,I no longer need this car. I tried selling it other ways but some people want these perfect running turn key cars for cheap.I can not deal with them anymore, I am tired of answering their nonsense questions that I would never dream of asking someone selling a car for $800.00 .If you have any reasonable questions, ask but don't ask stuff like how good the brake pads and are there any scratches on it . After I listed this I see they supply a carfax for this car. I have owned this car almost 20 years according to the report .I also see it had been in an accident I always suspected something happened because the paint was not as shiny on the deck lid and the passenger side quarter panel . Car is fairly straight although the drivers door is kinda wavy under the trim strip like some one got a little close pulling it in or out of the garage .
