Up for bid is my buddys 1979 fiat spider 2000. Its a fun little car and I have had the pleasure of driving it around several times. He currently owns to many vintage vehicles and feel its time to let a couple go. He bought this car locally from a man that has owned it since 1981. It has slowly been modified to be a daily driver/weekend track car worrier. The car has been well taken care of, all receipts and work have been meticulously documented in a binder which is about 3 inches thick. All gauges, lights, heat, even the factory clock work. Only thing that does not seem to work is the drivers side power window. The metal chord has came off the pulley and needs to be put back on. The car currently runs and drives good but has had a little power loss recently. He believes that the catalytic converter may be clogged or the carb may be rebuilt or replaced. I personally drove this car today for a 14 mile trip, and the car did as you would expect a well cared for good running car to run, it was not running at its best and you could tell, but it had no problem driving around town, going through the turns, stopping and going, so what I am tring to say is, the car is a nice driver as it sits... however, with a little tuning the car will run like a race car again. The car currently has a stock carb and would very much benefit from a performance carb. Stock seats, stock bumpers, stock luggage rack, stock 13" fiat wheels in good shape, extra lug nuts, nice locking car cover, professionally made custom chromoly track bumpers, gallon of transmission gear oil, new black ultra leather shift boot. I took several pictures of all the parts that all go with it. The top is in excellent shape, this car is a solid 8 out of 10 in my opinion, he gets a lot of compliments on it and it really looks great without those bumpers! (my opinion). They were bought new by him at around $800. The stock seats are in good shape, and again are included. Car also comes with an original FIAT keychain, and a 3" thick notebook documenting every part and service done to this car since 1981. There are thoussands and thousands and thousands in reciepts, and this car is SUPER DOCUMENTED pretty much since back when it was new. Very nice car to add to a collection and enjoy! Yes, the car drives great around town and great on the highway. It has NO PROBLEM doing 70 mph, and with a 5 speed gear box, it gets really good gas mileage at that. The only thing to keep in mind is all the extra parts that go with the car, you might want to bring a friend with a truck or a van if you plan on bringing them home with you. I put the top down last night, and drove this car around on an hour round trip, and it was a blast. Lots of fun to drive and shift, gets a lot of looks... Thanks for your interest.
