Vehicle Detail
Take a look at my beautiful, lovingly maintained, '98 328i, in Morea Green. Her name is "Sasha." Her color, Morea Green, is a rare color (I've only seen two others around this county), combining the best of green and blue, to produce an overall, ocean blue effect. Stunning--everyone will know your car. I'm Sasha's second owner (from 12,789 forward), and she is a masterpiece of German engineering. The question is, will you be her third? To prepare Sasha for her next life, I've restored her front seats, with a leatherette that is more supple and comfortable than the original leather, which is still part of the back seats. She's got a new set of tires, added just a few weeks ago, as well as a new oil/filter change. And recently, I had her professionally detailed. Sasha is ready for the road, and parts previously unknown. Her original Harmen Karden stereo is still rocking, with its combined, 6 disc CD changer and cassette deck (for you nostalgia fans). Unlike many older Beamers, Sasha's onboard computer is picture perfect, with all the pixels lit to tell you the time, temperature, distance, mileage and a host of other information. Sasha's extended service contract kept her maintained/serviced between Bert Smith BMW and Reeves BMW, locally, when she was in her first six years. Since then, Sasha's been just as professionally maintained and serviced at European Performance Automotive. Call Josh at (727) 823-4685, and the above, BMW dealerships (give them her VIN), for Sasha's complete service history. Or, I'll be happy to provide anyone who has graced Sasha with a decent bid, with a PDF file of her service and repair history--at least to the extent I have on hand. As you can see from the photos, Sasha comes with some interesting extras. That's a fully operational moon roof, that can quickly turn the quiet ride of a sport sedan, into the free wind sounds of a convertible. There's a full-sized spare tire in the trunk, along with a tool kit built into the trunk lid. Between the back seats is a comfortable armrest, that contains a nice drawer for storage, with two rings for beverages. Between the front seats are two cupholders, a coin purse and two ashtrays (don't worry, no one has smoked in this car), most of them switchable and most of which can be hidden by the armrest. For more storage, Sasha has the glove box, of course, as well as a side pocket on each of the front doors, and elastic pockets on the back of the front seats. The trunk itself accommodates quite a bit of luggage, boxes and whatnot. I've got the complete owner's manual, in case you need to know more. As far as the engine goes, you have no worries and Josh will confirm that. In spite of Sasha's 131K miles, she still purrs. But, there are two "check engine" codes that relate to emissions--one for a secondary air pump and one for a catylitic converter. Since I am guessing that the next owner will want the most horsepower out of the engine and likely remove the converter entirely, these won't be issues for you. A few other, minor problems are, that while the passenger's power seat moves in all three directions (up/down, back/forth, recline/incline), the driver's side no longer recline/inclines. Since I never felt the need to sleep in my car, that never bothered me, and the up/down motion tilts the seat anyway. Interior-wise, Sasha shines. The new seats are outstanding and match the rear seats very well. The pictures tell the rest of the story--there are some nicks on the top of the rear door, driver's side, interior (transported a ladder), and the headliner is starting to droop a little. On the exterior, while Sasha has never been in a crash (but her front and side airbags would have kept me safe if she was) some kid did back up into her front bumper when she was parked, chipping off some of the paint on the left, front bumper. Between that and my own extending over the occasional, parking bumper, Sasha's bumper got loosened (since repaired) and the fog lamp was damaged (since replaced). There are other nicks and minor scratches on the outside, and some black marks on the hood, I am guessing from lovebug tar. Sasha did spend much of her life in the garage, so her exterior is in pretty good shape, otherwise. On the suspension, Sasha comes equipped with the Sport Package, that lets her take corners on a dime. Having just replaced her right wheel bushing, her ride is as smooth as the day I bought her, driving her home from South Motors in Miami, back in February 2000. Josh has let me know that although the ride is silky smooth today, eventually, she'll need a ball joint and control arm bushing (lower control arm and rear arm bushing had been replaced in 10/06). But from October 2010, she's got a new power steering rack, as well as new rear brake pads, rotors and sensors, and drive belts, not to mention the new set of tires from last month. Her AC has kept me cool through these hot Florida summers--I replaced the last belt in 10/10, and an AC pulley and belt in 10/08. In 2009, I replaced her water pump and radiator. Looking back at my repairs and maintenance costs since 10/2006, which was the first repair bill following the extended service contract's expiration, Sasha has cost about $170.00 a month, to maintain. Where are you going to find another BMW to drive, for only $170.00 per month? Look no further and place your bid on one of the most beautiful Beamers to hit the States. Oh, there's a nominal reserve--I'm not just giving her away!
