Vehicle Detail
1967 Dodge Coronet 500, Built 440 motor, Automatic New Interior, great-looking paint, Steel-hood w/6-pak style scoop, New Edelbrock 750 carb, Re-chromed bumpers, Headers, newer exhaust from Headers back, etc!! Key in Dash start! Fender turn signals! 'Weld'-style chrome wheels! This car turns heads - it looks even more stunning in person vs. photos. It is Limelight Green, almost a Yellow-cast to it when light hits it which can be seen in the photos. The Coronet was originally Pale Yellow with a 383. 7 years ago the Coronet went thru a 'freshening' (not fully restored). The Coronet got a hopped-up 440 motor, a shift kit put in the Auto trans, a stall converter - 2500 I believe, a whole new interior (seats, carpet, headliner), re-chromed bumpers, exhaust with correct tips, 6-pak scoop (open/functional air induction), and of course - the Limelight paint with the correct 'optional' GTX-style lower stripe set -it was offered on the Coronet 500s. I call the paint Limelight even though Dodge's paint was 'Sublime'. I believe Plymouth's Limelight looks lighter than Sublime - which I believe this Coronet was actually done in. The Coronet was then put in storage for the next 6 years and that's when I acquired it. I added the Edelbrock 750 carb (brand new!) and added the wheels and tires - which were actually meant for my Cuda I am working on....so, if by chance you prefer different wheels - by all means I will either buy them back and put steel wheels on or you can bring your own. I don't want to give up these wheels and tires, but I thought they just made the car look serious and aggressive. The tires are Cooper Cobra Radial GTs - the fronts are 235/60R15 and the rear are 255/70R15 - rear is brand new with stickers still on them (see pic). Sounds MEAN! Hedman Headers. Has a nice cam in it - I believe it's atleast a 284 duration/ 484-509 lift Mopar Purple camshaft - pretty radical, nice lopey idle. The condition of the paint is very good - doesn't show it's age - shines very nice! It does have some bubbling in the paint at the front of the rear wheels in the lower qtrs (see pic). There was some filler used in lower qtrs, but the rest of the body is rock-solid- all original sheet metal. The underneath is in great shape - floor pans are good, frame rails, etc. The trunk pan and extensions/dropoffs are excellent. The trunk floor was sprayed black over the original Pale Yellow. The rest of the car - body, engine bay, door jambs and under trunk lid were all done in green. The body is very straight - no waves, no dings and no scratches! The paint on the hood is gloss black - it has some feather-edging, not perfect but looks good. The bumpers front and rear were rechromed, still perfect and look fantastic! The trim around the windows is in excellent shape. The chrome strip at top of qtr panel/btm of roofline has some pitting - but chrome shines like new. The tail-lamp trim panel is in very good shape. The front grille was sprayed black to go along with the hood. It is in average condition with a few of the bars bent on the DR side, but I have a whole other grille in original silver/black and headlight bezels and center grille emblem that I was currently polishing/freshening up to install that will be included in the sale! Mirror and door handles are new. Glass is in great shape - one stone chip and a couple scratches near top of windshield. The interior looks great! The seats, carpet and headliner were all redone. The dash and dashpad are in good shape - has one hairline crack at top speaker grille. Tons of chrome and brightwork trim on the interior - all is original, but in very good shape! The green door panel inserts don't match the body color - I have vinyl dye that I was going to re-do them in black to match the white/black combo of the interior. The green piping on the seats looks nice though! Floor mats are custom with 'Coronet' embroidered in them in body color. Tasteful aftermarket guages (with chrome surround matching interior): oil pressure, water temp. Tachometer mounted on side of steering wheel. Low-back Bucket seats with Buddy Seat! Vent windows, rear coupe windows - all roll down as they should. The engine bay features the 440 with Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with brand new $400 Edelbrock 750 carb, 440 pie-pan air cleaner, Electronic Ignition conversion, 8mm wires, this was an A/C car, but A/C components are gone underhood. The hood pins are 3M (removeable) - no drilling was done. The 440 emblems on the hood scoop are custom vinyl done in body color and are reflective! What else can I say? This is one of the most visually stunning earlier B-body Mopars around! The built 440 just makes it back up it's aggressive looks! This is not a 100-point restored show car, but one you would be proud to take to your local car show/cruise-ins. Get ready to be stopped at gas stations and chat at red lights - cell phones will be hanging out of the car behind you and in front of you snapping photos for sure! This is an As-Is sale, obviously no warranty on a 44-year old car. I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge and ability - it has it's flaws and is a used car from the 60s. With the passion for these old cars, comes more work than the newer cars. If you're a car guy, you already know that, but felt the need not to exclude that disclaimer. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer very timely. Please ask serious questions only though. I will happily work with transporters if having the Coronet transported/shipped! Please be aware that all funds must clear my bank before I will release vehicle and/or title. Cash is good, bank wire transfers are welcome - see payment section for full details. Good Luck! Please be prepared to complete the transaction. Waiting on a paycheck, sale of your vehicle, or a small lotto win are not good plans. Thanks for looking!
