1970 Chevy C10: This truck had the original paint on it when I purchased it 2 years ago. The body was in amazing conditon with no dents, only a few small dime size dings. The truck had rust in the rocker panels and cab corners. I had the the sheet metal replaced in these areas. The exterior gold color was repainted with the original gold color code with a flattening agent added to make it a satin gold. The lower part of the truck was repainted with a soft bone white color. The white paint on the top of the cab is still the original paint showing patina. The inside of the cab has the original paint. The inside of the bed also has the original paint and is worn and scratched up, I could have bedlined the inside of the bed before selling but a potential buyer may just want the original paint left showing. The body was primed and blocked out repeatedly to make it laser straight. The bed was removed so the back of the cab could be painted and cab corners replaced. New hardware used to reinstall the bed. New weather stripping, door sills, new carpet. The original dash pad was recovered with an antiqued brown vinyl,which was also inserted in two strips in the center of the seat cover. The seat itself underneath the seat cover does need the upholstery replaced. The info i have on the engine was given to me by the previous owner. He said that it is a 327 with a mild performance cam and a decent set of heads rebuilt several years ago. I do not have any more info on the engine but it is a smooth strong running motor. I recently installed a polished ribbed high flow water pump. Has brand new belts and hoses, and new alternator. The carb is a quadrajet that is in great shape and makes the truck idle and accelerate very smoothly. The transmission is a turbo 350 automatic. The mileage showing on the odometer is 88,831 at the time of this listing. I have no way to verify if this is the actual mileage, or if the odometer has rolled over. With that said,i would like to point out that finding a truck in this condition with no damage ever done to the body and still wearing 100 percent of the original paint, only in need of the typical rust areas replaced. It is the opinion of myself and the owner of the auto restoration shop that worked on the truck that the mileage may very well be original. I cannot sell it as original though because as I said it has not been documented and is not verifiable. Since the paint work was done the truck has had some scratches down both sides and a small ding the size of a bb on the side of the hood. I had my lettering and pinstripe guy do the old time lettering on the truck to cover up some of the areas where scratches are in the paint. With the scratch marks in the paint and the original patina paint on the cab, and the lettering -the truck really has an old nostalgia flavor to it. I just installed all brand new moldings, tail light bezels, and side marker lights. All of these pieces have been brushed to give them a satin look to go along with the theme of the truck. Several hundred dollars spent on the these pieces alone. I also have the tailgate painted to match, will be installed on the truck.
