Here is the ideal Fathers Day gift for your Dad or yourself. This is a 1950 GMC 100 (half-ton), with the rare long bed, and five window deluxe cab. It has the 228 ci straight six-cylinder engine and three speed on the column transmission. The rear-end ratio has been changed to 3.55 so it runs at highway speeds. It has gorgeous custom red-oak bed wood with stainless rub strips and oak side rails. This truck has been well cared for since new and has only 66, 000 actual miles. Other options include an original GMC radio, that is not currently working, a heater that works great, and a “See-Mor” brand visor that looks cool, yet lets you see the stop-lights. I have owned this truck for 16 years. During that time, almost every mechanical system has been rebuilt or replaced. All chrome has been redone, brakes rebuilt, shocks replaced, all new period correct wiring installed, carburetor rebuilt, fuel lines replaced , gas gauge sending unit replaced and a new Optima no maintenance battery. All gauges work correctly. The engine head was removed, cleaned and reinstalled because very limited wear was found. Eighteen months ago, a complete cab-on-frame restoration was completed. During this restoration, all body panels were examined and those with rust (the front cab corners and front bed panel) were replaced. All window, door and vent rubber gaskets were also replaced. The frame was repainted in original black. Factory correct original green paint was applied to the body. The inner bed panels where coated with color matched bed liner for enhanced durability. The cab and wheels were then hand pin striped as per factory specification. This is a strong, well running #2 truck that has won many awards and provided years of fun and utility. Included are a custom waterproof bed cover, deluxe car cover, the original owner’s manual, and overhaul manual. Good luck and happy bidding.
