This is a 1999 Ford Explorer seized in a criminal investigation by the Milford Police Department in Delaware. The vehicle was recently awarded to the Milford Police Department by the Delaware Superior Court. It has not been used for police service and was not purchased new by the City of Milford. Vehicle was running when stopped and seized however after being stored for a number of months, the vehicle currently does not start. By the look of the battery, it would appear that is the problem however there is no warranty and the vehicle will not be repaired prior to sale. It is unknown if the 4WD works. Vehicle interior is dirty, steering wheel and brake pedal seem to operate properly. Tires are inflated and tread is serviceable. Vehicle exterior is in good condition with some dings and dents. Paint is not badly weathered and appears glossy. There is rust in the water channels on the top but there are no areas rusted through anywhere on the vehicle. The front tag holder is bent but the bumper does not appear to be. If it is, it is a slight bend. The factory stereo was found in the rear compartment and installed in the dash. It is not known if it works or not. With a little elbow grease and some mechanical know how, this vehicle could be re-conditioned. Buyer is responsible for picking the vehicle up at 400 NE Front Street, Milford DE. All shipping charges and/or towing charges are the responsibility of the buyer. We can offer a "Jump Starter" box to the buyer to try to start the vehicle. If towing, we will offer reasonable assistance to load the vehicle. If using a trailer, please bring a winching device rated for the weight of this vehicle. We do not loan rope, chains, or straps nor will they be provided. The City of Milford cannot take credit cards, and we will not finance. Full Payment is due within 7 days of purchase by Personal Check, Cashier's Check, Money Order, or Cash. The vehicle will be made available for inspection Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM by appointment.
