1965 Rambler American 440 2-door hardtop. 199 OHV, 1 bbl holley rebuilt. 3 speed manual on column. Vacuum wipers (work great) Drum brakes all around with new rear wheel cylinders, brake hose and pads. This car is original and untouched. Two items not original is the radio and air cleaner. Runs great, and smokes a little when starting. Gas gauge works, lights, horn all work. It even has the original "R" box under passenger side dash for the tissue box. Glove box is mint. This car is all original and would be a great piece to start with. All trim is attached. The body is in really decent shape. I pulled up the front carpet and the floors are solid with no rust. There are small rust holes at the base of the front window pillars and around the wiper area cowling. It is the light teal type blue with white top. The dash is in great shape and the basic conditon is really great for its age. I tried to take all the photos identifying the worst places. The trunk area is in nice shape and the jack, spare and spare hubcap are in trunk. Glass in the whole car is in really great shape. Of course it will need paint, rubber, etc. But a GREAT platform to start with. I picked this car up in a deal to buy out this persons AMC collection and parts. The previous owner confirmed the mileage is 125,130. I have done quite a bit of work to get it in driveable shape. It has a new battery, fresh oil change and new air filter. I have driven it locally but not on a cross country trip. I have had it for about 3 months. I own many other AMC cars and need to move this one. Serious bidders only.
