Up for auction is a rare WW2 Ford jeep!!! This jeep is a 12 of 1942 gpw!!! Serial number is ( 84947 ) Comes with all 3 original data plates and comes with a CA title. The title says the jeep is a 47 because that was when it was sold to the public from the military. And also for some reason they used the serial number off the motor for the title number. Since that time the motor has been changed out so you should be able to just tell the DMV to change it to a 1942 and put the correct serial number on there. Or if you want to just do it the simple way you can just buy new data plates and stamp the info that is on the title on them.... The jeep is in Great shape!!! The only rust is on one of the floor board on the passenger side. The rest of the tub is in very very good shape. The floors are almost perfect and rust Free!!! There are like two spots where someone put body filler to fill in a few holes and a dent, They never sanded it so it does not look smooth but if you take a sander to it it will look fine.. Other than that the body is very straight. The front grill, hood and fenders are Perfect. Has the original Ford stamped axles, leaf springs, seat frames and other parts. Has the original gas tank which has been cleaned and sealed, has a new radiator. The engine is a civilian engine but it starts right up and runs very very good. The tranny and transfer case are also civilian but have been Rebuilt!!!! On the front part of the frame where the bumper goes there has been some extinctions Bolted on, NOT Welded, so when you go to but the original bumper on you can just unbolt those extinctions and they should come right off!!! This jeep would be a Great restoration project or if you just put a little time into it you could have a fun run around in the woods jeep..
