1982 Honda GL

BEING RELISTED DUE TO ANOTHER DISHONEST BIDDER...DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU CAN FOLLOW ALL TERMS.... Overall good condition GL500 Silverwing Interstate edition.It was owned by an older gentleman that is 74 and just doesn't ride anymore. It only sat since last summer. I got bike and did the usual, cleaned carburetors, new battery and spark plugs. The bike runs excellent, could use a few minor things like, the seal at shifter leaks, it has a slight oil leak..these are easy to change, you can do it from the outside in a few minutes when you do the next oil change. It also has a couple drips of antifreeze by the one water pipe going into water pump housing which I think is just the O ring that goes around the water pipe joint and I have one that will go with the bike, either that or maybe water pump gasket itself, either way, both easy jobs and it dont leak much,only when good and hot, just sitting it never leaks. Again, easy fix. I started a new job and I just don't have the time to do the little things I mentioned, barely have time to type this !! . The bike can still be run as is. Neither leak is substantial. This is one of the best engines Honda ever made. I have seen these bikes with 90,000 + miles. So with only 30k this bike has a lot of fun years left in it and overall is in great shape, just a few cosmetic flaws. Everythign on bike works as it should; lights, turn signals, horn, radio, gauges. I'll go over some details below.... Condition: Bike is very straight and orignal, nothing busted up or bent on it. Rear tire at least 1/2 tread, front tire at least 3/4 tread. Inside of gas tank is still nice and shiny. No dents in bike anywhere, just several scuffs all over from normal wear and tear, please see pictures. 75% of paint on sides and whatnot still shines, but as you can see in pics there are several scratches on side saddle bags, and for whatever reason this year and color seems to get stains around gas cap from people spilling, decal on gas tank is peeling. Tops of all saddlebags, paint is pretty faded, but still there. Chrome on exhaust very, very nice for the year, as well as mirrors, handlebars It has some pitting on buckles for saddlebags. Forks are very nice, no leaks Seats are perfect Gauges and controls very nice. He repaired front left turn signal housing and looks like he spilled some glue down the front of fairing in that area and has a couple scrape marks on trim of fairing. Vinyl cover on fairing pocket has a few rips around buttons Features: Upgraded Interstate edition from regular Silverwing Removable hard side saddle bags that can be used liek suitcases, everything lockable. It has original owners manual Original toolkit AM/FM Cassette radio, with upgraded Sony dash speakers, sounds pretty good. Engine crash guards, do have some scrapes in them, so they work! Dual disc front brake set up Windshield is clear Air ride suspension, front and rear. Maintenance free shaft drive. Performance: Bike starts right up, idles well, and runs great. Shifts through all 5 gears nicely. It rides smoothly and handles nicely. Gets around 50 MPG So overall it is a good vintage Silverwing, in nice shape, it just needs the few little things mentioned. If someone wants to put a few bucks into a paint job it would be a very nice bike. Very dependable, economical, touring bike with low miles. It is at a very fair price......don't miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
