Vehicle Detail

My grandfather owned a 1963 Impala, which is the first car I ever drove. In the summer of 2002 I had the chance to purchase “the car of my dreams” and jumped on it. I drove it nearly every day the weather was nice until I learned that I had renal cancer in October 2007. Prior to my first surgery on November 8, 2007 I parked the car in my garage where it has remained ever since. Due to the staggering medical costs I have no other option that to sell the car to help pay the bills. I am not a mechanic but will do the best I can to tell you a little bit about my car. Like I’ve said it has been in the garage since 2007 but I have started it several times during that time. The last time was during the last week of January when a mechanic friend of mine did a tune-up including new plug wires. When we fired it up we noticed a small fuel leak around the carburetor. Facing another surgery (March 24) and prolonged recovery I haven’t messed with it since. The body is painted 1977 Corvette yellow and with the exception of some rust above the driver’s rear wheel and along the trunk (see photographs) the body is in good condition (see photographs). The motor is a Chevy 350 short block with Holley carburetor, Edelbrock hi-rise manifold, Excel ignition and Mickey Thompson valve covers (see photograph). The transmission is a Chevy 350 turbo-glide automatic transmission that was professionally re-built in 2003. The tires are Goodyear Eagle ST radials all the way around that are in good condition. I installed a AM-FM-CD with removable face in the dash when I purchased the car. With the exception of a few scratches on the dash and two rips in the driver’s seat (result of a misplaced screwdriver while installing the stereo) the interior is in very good condition. The car has manual brakes and steering that worked well when I last drove the it in October 2007. I have the bill of sale I received from the previous owner that lists the mileage on the day that I purchased it at 97,145. For whatever reason when I received the new title from the Indiana BMV it reads “*Odometer - Is Not Actual”. I do not know what this means or why it is there but at the present time the mileage is 102,269 and the title is clear. Please understand that due to my prolonged illness I have not been able to do much with the car over the last three years, nor do I have the funds to ship the vehicle. With that being said I am selling it in a “where is, as is” condition. I listed the car once before but placed a "reserve" on the sale that might have prevented some buyers from bidding. The "Buy It Now" price you see is exactly what I have invested in the vehicle over the 9 years I have owned it. If you are serious about bidding on the car please feel free to contact me with questions and I will get back to you ASAP. But remember that I am not a mechanic. I’m just a guy that bought a really cool car that due to an unfortunate turn of events is no longer able to afford or enjoy it anymore. Good luck in bidding.
