1966 Ford F250 “Kamper $pecial” 1966 Ford F250 “Kamper $pecial” Classic Autoworx is excited to offer this beautiful 1966 Ford F250 Camper Special custom, retired show truck. Named “Kamper $pecial” or “Lucky 7” if you like, this truck is absolutely beautiful and covered with detail and pinstriping. This vehicle was custom built by a custom auto body and paint shop out of Jenison, MI. by the name of Boerema Enterprises Inc. The exact date of build is unknown, however the truck has a ton of custom graphics and pinstriping done by Mike “Mad Max” Contreras, who we believe is out of Detroit, MI. At some point shortly after the build, the truck was brought to Arizona, where it was entered into car shows and is said to have won a number of awards. The truck was retired from the car show circuit a few years ago it seems and has been used as a weekend driver and occasionally taken to the local car shows. It has a couple of chips and small scratches from driving and use but it remains one of the baddest ’66 F250’s we’ve ever seen. Obviously, it gets a ton of thumbs up’s, waves and positive comments. It would take someone an easy $25,000- $30,000 to build this truck. The truck is powered by a very healthy 390ci 4v V8, 4spd manual trans and 9in. rear end. Around 330-350 horsepower. The truck is said to have about 20,000 miles on it since being built. There is no way to verify this info, however it is very clean, it does not smoke and everything works on it. No leaks. . EXTERIOR BODY/ PAINT: The paint on this truck is looks like it’s fairly fresh, however it is at least a few years old. It was done in original Peacock Blue and what appears to be a Wimbledon White, basecoats with a high quality clear, then color sanded and buffed to a mirror like shine. It looks fantastic. It was built to be visually stunning, and it still is. The truck looks beautiful and it gets thumbs up, questions and positive comments. Definitely a nice weekend driver or cruise night attention getter. LETTERING AND PINSTRIPING: There is so much detail to this truck, that it was difficult to photograph it all. Some of it is so subtle, that it didn’t show up well in pictures. As mentioned above, the truck was signed on the tailgate by “Mad Max”, who we believe is Mike “Mad Max”Contreras, out of Detroit, MI. The work that was done on this truck was not only time consuming, but very expensive as well. Have a look at the photos. The truck is identical on both sides. INTERIOR: The interior on the truck looks great. Velour and vinyl seat upholstery, velour door panels, sun visors and headliner, new carpet shift boot and bezel, performance gauges and giant dice shift knob. Also features a custom white and chrome Moon / So Cal steering wheel. Windows roll up and down well, vent windows operate and lock perfectly. All knobs present. Heater blower motor works great, fuel gauge works and instrument lighting works.The interior looks great and is fully functional! Engine/Transmission/Differential: Powered by a rebuilt 390ci 4v V8 engine, this motor is strong and said to only have around 20,000 on it. Nicely detailed with an aluminum 4v intake, 4v Holley carburetor, custom pinstriped factory valve covers, custom classic Ford hubcap aircleaner lid with pinstriping as well. Newer belts and hoses. New electric fan set-up with cooling system service, new fuse block and new battery cables. Nearly $3,000 in recent service and upgrades with receipts. The engine compartment is very clean and nicely detailed. This CUSTOM F250 has front disc brakes! The transmission is a 4spd Toploader. Operates normal, without issues, in good shape. Also less than 20,000 miles since rebuild, clutch is in great shape. The driveshaft was rebuilt/ rebalanced. The rear differential is a stock Ford 9 in, unknown gear ratio recent axle seal replacement. Should provide years of enjoyment with continued proper care and service! CUSTOM dual exhaust exiting out the sides through baffled Lake Pipes. Brakes, Steering, Suspension and Structure: The brakes on this custom truck have been replaced and rebuilt, with the addition of front disc brakes. The truck was converted to 5-lug at this time to accommodate a larger variety of wheel options. The steering components that required replacement, were replaced. The truck has been lowered properly. Spindle drop with performance/ lowering springs up front, lowering leafs and C-notched in the rear. HARD TO FIND RADIR 15” wheels with bullet caps and newer Coker American Classic wide whitewall tires. There’s about $2,300 worth of wheels and tires on the truck alone. There is no rust on this truck. Everything looks solid and the frame and all underside components look to be in great shape. There is still original paint showing in some places on the underside. Even the bed is nice and the original paint is in surprisingly decent condition in the bed. This custom truck has a clear / clean AZ title.
