Vehicle Detail

This is a 1968 Fiat Dino with the Ferrari Dino 6 cylinder 2.0 engine that Enzo Ferrari's son Dino Ferrari designed for formula 1 racing. There are very few of these in the U.S. Since they where never imported to the states. This one is in great condition. Not a show stopper, But it is a crowd pleaser and people gather around it where ever you go. Enzo Ferrari wanted to win the 2. liter class races so he used Dino Ferrari 2.0 liter engine and designed a new line of car named after his son Dino that died early at the age of 25. Ferrari at the time had not had the ability to build the line of car to race the engine for formula 1 racing, so he went to Fiat to produce them for him. Then soon after Fiat bought Ferrari. And left the racing to Enzo Ferrari. Now about the car. This car had just about everything done to it that you would want done to a car that you would want to buy for a dayly driver. It all has been done in the last 4 mouths. It has a high quality paint job on it, in the original color. All the body panels have the matching numbers 2178 to the Vin # 0002178 out of less then 3600 made. All the gaps are constant and look great. The trunk, hood, engine compartment and wheel wells are in its original flat black. The valve covers are painted in hi temp silver, the gas tank was painted in silver, and the wheels have been painted also. There was very little rust to begin with and all has been cut out and replaced properly. The interior is done in a nice tan leather and vinyl. It has a great color combo and shows very well. There are a couple off little nicks on the left side drivers seat, as shown in pics. It has the smells of leather when you sit in it, and it smells great! There is new gold carpet with a thick pad to keep out the road sounds out. The power windows works fine as they should. There are new BF Goodrich Traction T/A's tires on it, Along with the spare. The gas tank was removed and boiled out along with the radiator and expansion tank along with new hoses. New battery, fuel pump and filter, brake hoses, rebuilt master cylinder, new clutch cylinder, and slave cylinder. The brakes work like they should. with plenty of pad left on them. Parking brake holds the car on a hill like it should. The distributor has been rebuilt along with new ignition wires. The carburetors have had some work done to them and they work properly. New dual exhaust system with chrome tips, A little louder then stock, It sounds great! All the stainless steel and chrome is straight, polished and looks great. Things that may need to be done to to make it a show car. The steering column cover is not correct. 3 rd gear needs to be adjusted, or the syncros are out?? You need to double clutch to get into gear some times. It needs a air filter, and two of the air filter housing nuts are gone. There is a small chip off paint missing on the gas cap door. There are some small scratches on the right side rear window, although I have another that is just fine and comes along with the purchase. The dash has two small cracks, and the wood is dry around the switch area. The headliner needs to be cleaned with something because it shows some stains.the drivers side sun visor has crack in the vinyl and the passenger side has a crack in the plastic behind it. They both have stains also and need to be cleaned. All of these are easy to find and can be repaired. All of the Ferrari badges are sticker and can be removed easy. I have a low reserve on this. And a low starting price. If you have any ?s please email me . If you need to talk to me on the phone leave your phone #. I will call you back. Please check out all the photo's before bidding. And before emails as the photo's may answer many questions you may have. Do not miss out on this one. As these do not came up for sale very often. Thanks for viewing. And Happy Bidding On Jun-06-11 at 13:26:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi there. I have a mechanic look at the 3rd gear to see whats wrong with it. I will update the listing when it will be fix. Thanks for viewing.
