Your are bidding on a 1953 Packard Patrician 400 4 door sedan. This car is truely a one of a kind car. This is a survivor. This has to be one of the nicest mostly original '53 Packards out there. This car is all original with the exception of an older repaint (about 30 years ago). This car sold new here in Logan, Utah from Taylor Motor Sales. It has spent it's entire life in Logan and I am the third owner. This car has never been left outside, always parked in a garage and well taken care of. This is not a restored car, but a car that has been well maintained and preserved. The interior is almost flawless, and I would go as far as saying that the woodgraining on the dash and garnish moldings is perfect. Driving this car is really like going back in time. The base price on this car was $3,740.00. The Patrician came well loaded. This car has power steering ($190.00 option), power brakes, power antenna, power windows, power seat, and radio. No A/C. Almost everything on this car works. The radio was recently rebuilt, brakes work great, transmission was resealed, front window work good but for some reason the back windows have quit working, the pump turns on but the windows will not lower, they are shut though, these were working last year but not now. The same with the seat, the pump turns on but the seat does not move. The car starts up fast even after sitting for long periods because it has an electric fuel pump. This car cruises great at highway speed with its 327 cu.in. engine and Carter 4 barrel carb. And will come to a straight stop with the power brakes. The odometer on this car reads 33020 miles, the only problem with this is that the odometer does not work ( the speeometer does though). This came to me with this problem. The odometer quit on the previous owner and he has kept close track of the miles he put on the car. He told me the car had about 37000 miles on it when I purchased it about 10 years ago. I have since put on less than 1000 miles. This car has not been driven much in the last 10-15 years but has always been maintained and started and driven several times a year. It is safe to assume that there is under 40,000 original miles on the car. Here is a list ot the things wrong with the car; clock not working, power seat not working, rear windows not working, there also a lifter noise in the engine that comes and goes, mainly at idle. On the highway it runs smooth and quiet. The tires look good but are probably at least 20 years old, so I would not recommend driving this car any long distance with out replacing or inspecting closer. Like I mentioned before the car was repainted years ago in the original color. The paint is very presentable but not what I would call "show quality". All of the chrome is original and has some of its new luster, especially the rear bumper, but it is all straight and rust free. The stainless is also in good condition. There has been some rocker panel repair done on this car some time ago, probably when it was repainted. The floors and trunck are very solid. ( I can send pictures of the underside if you need them). All of the glass is in good condition. The interior on this car look almost new, it even has a new car smell when you open the door.
