Also note that a transaction can be done through a large BMW dealership that can handle all transfer of funds, trade ins, financing, shipping, etc if needed ... 1961 Ferrari GT250 California Spyder recreation (Brandy wine w/beige leather interior & beige Top) Professionally built (over a period of 6 months-completed and titled in 2010) is my Absolutely STUNNING California Spyder, a FLAWLESS exact recreation of the famous multi-million dollar Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spider (made famous by the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off). CHASSIS - The car starts out with a jig welded steel tube frame, the body is reinforced fiberglass, and the trim is handmade polished stainless steel. This particular car is a Cal Spyder II, of which there are only about three in existence. These Cal Spyder II's have a beefed up frame, and can accept a serpentine belt system (which this car has). This car is a spectacular show piece inside & out! History- As stated above, the 1961 Ferrari GT California Spyder was immortalized in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In actuality the cars used in the movie were the same recreations designed and built by the now defunct Modena Design & Development. These recreations even fooled Ferrari and the Ferrari faithful who blasted the movie's producers for destroying a "priceless" Ferrari since only 55 original examples were built. This uproar caused the producers to divulge the fact that indeed the cars used in the movie were these recreations supplied by Modena Design & Development. Ferrari then sued Modena D & D for infringement and won. The subsequent restitution to Ferrari bankrupted Modena Design & Development and the rest is history. Summary- This car has been in only 2 shows since completed in 2010 and won best of show, and best paint. Draws crowds where ever it goes.. the car only has 410 miles and runs like a charm!
