NO RESERVE! HIGH BIDDER DRIVES THIS CADILLAC HOME You are bidding on a 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood coupe. This is a bone stock, completely unmolested blue plate California car. This was a daily driven car in my father’s collection until he fell ill and passed recently. This is a no-reserve auction, and bidding begins at the net value the car has if donated to my local charity. The good: · Lovely original Cadillac which drives effortlessly down the freeway at 70-80 MPH with unmatched comfort. · Very nicely preserved original gray velour interior, including original 4-piece floor mat set. Door panels are in beautiful condition. · This was a V8-6-4 car, which was professionally converted to run as a V8 all the time (shortly after my father purchased the car) · Absolutely no rust. CA car since new. · Nice original vinyl top. · Trunk is like brand new, with original space saver tire having appeared to never been used, and original trunk mat in place in perfect condition. · This Fleetwood was ordered ­without a factory sun roof. Having had 3 other Cadillacs of this vintage with sunroof issues, this is considered an advantage. · Climate control has been converted to R-134A, and will blow cold with a re-charge. · All original & functional accessories in place, including exterior thermometer on driver’s side view mirror, AM/FM stereo, mileage calculator, twilight sentinel, cruise control, · Excellent tires, brakes, glass, door panels, etc. · I have original factory manuals for the car. · Clear title in-hand, in my name. DMV registration fees paid through 2012. The bad: · The car failed its test-only smog test that the DMV required when I took possession of the car. I don’t have the time inclination to explore this any further, but would be happy to send a copy of the smog test results to any who are interested. The NOx number was a 613 ppm, and 595 ppm was the max allowable. The smog check/certification to complete CA registration will be the sole responsibility of the buyer. Out of state buyers have the advantage here. · While the car is very straight, the paint is very tired and needs to be repainted · The rear bumper fillers are cracked, but intact. I have a matched set of original fillers that I recently acquired that can be negotiated into the auction at the buyer’s/seller’s option. · The side moldings are getting droopy, as the original adhesive is starting to fail. You’ll notice in the pictures that the driver’s door is missing. I have this piece, and will provide a new roll of 2-way adhesive to re-attach all side moldings (I’d assume after the car is repainted) · The original carpet is in very nice shape, but could use a steam cleaning, as the common areas are a bit dingy. · The original headliner is starting to bubble/droop (very common, and inexpensive fix). 1 small crack on the dashboard that may not be visible in the pictures. As I said, this was a daily-driven car in my father’s collection for many years until he fell ill. I would not hesitate to fly in, and drive this car home.
