The data plate shows the engine number and it matches the one stamped into the crankcase of the motor so it's matching original numbers. It has the Earls fork front end plus the desirable 6 1/2 gallon tank. This bike has both saddles, the single original rubber "Steiger" and also the big twin saddle"Scholsch Meier" from Munich, you can see it fitted in the pics, it's in perfect condition and the chrome grab handles are included and ready to be fittedThe motor starts easily, makes no smoke, idles well, I've taken a video of it running which you'll see in the photobucket album below. There are no oil leaks, the case is super clean and you can see the newer gaskets.Included is the original key, period factory Spare list manual dated Aug 1961, some spare footrests and as mentioned above the grab handles for the big saddle. The sticker from what I believe to be the supplying dealer is still on the rear mudguard The previous owner, an engineer, told me that he went through the motor, rebuilt the bottom end, rebuilt the carbs and replaced the fork bearings with Timeken items.Only problem is that the rear wheel has a bend in it, it is on the outside of the rim, it either needs to be straightened or replaced Non original items include a Gel Battery and a later style headlight insert. The original key is there and it works perfectly I am no bike expert, I am classic car dealer, I'm happy to answer any questions, my number is below. This motorcycle has a clear and current California title, any inspection is welcome before auctions end, this motorcyle is sold without warranty, as is, if sold in California all applicable taxes will be collected. Please call me if you have any questions regarding this motorcyle, my telephone number is 925 580 1947, I am happy to help with overseas shipping Below is a Photobucket album containing more pictures of the BMW http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a353/Exact10/BMW%20R50%201960/ On May-31-11 at 22:12:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's a video of the BMW running
