Please also keep in mind that this is a pre-owned vehicle. As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection. 1.2. Inspect the Vehicle. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding. 1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale. 1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery due to local test drives, detailing, etc. 2. Bidding on the Vehicle 2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow. 2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding. 2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion. 2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and all of my vehicles are concurrently offered for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction without notice at any time if the vehicle is no longer available, or for any other reason in my sole discretion. Don’t let this vehicle get away! Call me now if you would like to make an offer. 3. Completing the Transaction 3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440. 3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods. 3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction. 3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars. 3.5. Fees and Taxes. 3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions. 3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up. I can arrange to meet you at RSW and bring you to my location. 4.3. Shipping. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. Here’s a rare 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL turbo diesel up for sale. This is a NO RESERVE auction with a $100 opening bid. There’s no “Buy It Now” price. This big Mercedes diesel will be sold to the highest bidder. My philosophy is to give as thorough, accurate and frank a description of both the good and bad points as possible, and to show everything in pictures. I have included 70+ pictures of this car. If I have missed anything in pictures or in the description, or if anything is unclear, please ask before bidding…I will happily answer any questions.
This car is a recent trade-in on another diesel Mercedes. I am a big fan of the W126 body S-Class Mercedes....this body style is already a classic in my opinion. The car is big and solid and still looks expensive. And this one has an economical and durable diesel engine. It runs and drives great. This car is not flawless, but it is in very nice cosmetic and mechanical condition. Be sure to check out all of the pictures.
The exterior of the car looks very good over all. The diamond blue metallic paint is generally in good condition. I don't know for sure, but most of the paint appears to be original. A couple panels appear to have been redone. Up-close inspection reveals some blemishes, dings, scratches, and a few dull areas in the paint. I've tried to show the more significant spots in the pictures. It's a 25 year old car, after all. But over all, the car shows very well as you can see from the pictures. The chrome insert on the front bumper shows some corrosion (pictured). The alloy wheels are in good shape, but there is some junk on the inside of the wheel wells on the driver's side (pictured) that didn't immediately want to come off...may be road line paint? The exterior is not perfect, but it is very nice in my opinion.
The interior of the car is in over all very good condition as well. The navy blue leather upholstery is in great condition. The power seat functions work fine. The rear seat upholstery is in great shape as well. The wood trim likewise is glossy and shows only a couple of cracks here and there, but no significant veneer damage. The door panels are also in good condition. The headliner is in great shape. The instruments all work properly. This car does, however, suffer from a couple of interior issues common to 126 S-Class cars. The dashboard has a number of cracks in it (pictured). Additionally, the prior owner told me the sunroof doesn't work...and I decided to believe him rather than try it and risk it getting stuck open. Also, the driver's and both rear passenger power window regulators are malfunctioning, so that the window glass needs help going back up. Finally, the A/C works...sort of. On low fan speed, cool air will come out of the side vents and defroster vents, but not the center vents; on high fan speed, the air isn't so cool. Notwithstanding these few issues, the interior is in over all very nice condition. This car comes with factory floor mats, 4 keys, and fairly comprehensive records. I have tried to capture every angle of the interior in pictures, so be sure to check them out.
The car has Mercedes’s economical and very durable 3.0 liter straight 6 cylinder turbodiesel engine. The engine fires right right up. The motor has alot of car to move, but the power is good. Although the car isn't a hot rod by any stretch of the imagination, it moves along just fine. The benefit is tremendous fuel economy for a car of this size. The transmission likewise performs well in this car. The shifts are relatively firm. I noticed a couple creaks in the suspension when going over speedbumps and the like, but the car handles nicely and the ride is very good. It tracks down the road like a big Mercedes should.
Finally, if you are looking for a car to convert to run on straight vegetable oil (SVO) or waste vegetable oil (WVO), this car would make an excellent candidate.

1. Before You Bid
1.1. Read the Vehicle Description and Ask Questions. Every effort is made to accurately and fairly describe the vehicles I offer. If you have a specific question or concern, please ask. Please also keep in mind that this is a pre-owned vehicle. As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection.
1.2. Inspect the Vehicle. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding.
1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale.
1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery due to local test drives, detailing, etc.
2. Bidding on the Vehicle
2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow.
2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding.
2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion.
2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and all of my vehicles are concurrently offered for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction without notice at any time if the vehicle is no longer available, or for any other reason in my sole discretion. Don’t let this vehicle get away! 3. Completing the Transaction
3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440.
3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods.
3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction.
3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars.
3.5. Fees and Taxes.
3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions.
3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees.
3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect.
3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs.
3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially.
3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion.
4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle
4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed.
4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up. I can arrange to meet you at RSW and bring you to my location.
4.3. Shipping. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises.
