Up for auction is my 1985 BMW K100RT. It is in good condition and everything works as it should. It has brand new Metzeler Lasertec tires and a fresh engine oil/filter change. I have owned the bike for one year and rode it 2000 miles. It has been been completely reliable and it is a lot of fun to ride. I have replaced the rear shock with a later model used Borge shock absorber because the old one had lost its fluid. I replaced the Corbin seat with another used, but decent, BMW seat because I find it more comfortable and it has the pillion handle grips. When I bought the bike the ignition switch needed cleaning - it was not starting. I have had no problems since. It appears the whole bike was repainted at some point. Everything looks quite original, clean and well taken care of. Various spare parts, a Clymer manual, the BMW rider's manual, an oil filter wrench, and the side cases go with the bike. The cases are in fair condition. They work fine but may not provide a good seal in rain anymore. I only rode the bike in fair weather and always kept it garaged. The engine runs and idles fine and the transmission shifts without any problems. Except for some paint chips and scratches - to be expected from a 25 year old bike - the fairing and plastic parts are in good condition. Please note, early on I lost the right side battery panel and only recently obtained a used replacement cover. It is black but could be repainted, if desired. I am selling this bike because I recently purchased a later model BMW and cannot justify holding on to this one any longer. It deserves to be ridden more and should provide years of good service and fun to the next owner. The winner is responsible for picking up the bike or making any arrangements for shipping. I will help as much as I can and would consider delivering it within a reasonable distance if arrangements are made with me prior to auction end. You are also welcome to fly into Lambert St. Louis airport where I would be happy to pick you up. I would not hesitate riding the bike anywhere in the States. However, the bike is sold as-is and no warranty is given. Please contact me via email with any questions prior to auction end.
