Vehicle Detail

1937 Ford Model 74 Tudor Slantback sedan- no reserve. I have owned this car now for 3 years without doing any repairs, so I have decided to sell it. The 37 is a true barn find, it was owned by several years by an old gentleman that used this as his highschool car, kept it, and restored it in the late 60's or early seventies. I bought this car in 2008 with the intention of fixing it up as a real patina'd hot rod. It has a v-8 60 engine and port-a-wall whitewalls. The car looks better in the pictures than it is, as there is a lot of period bodywork (galvinized patch panels, body filler, rear fenders smoothed into the body) that you would need to eventually repair if you would want to properly restore the car. The paint will wax and shine up great, but I am leaving it exactly as is except for all of the dirt I had washed of of it 3 years ago. The paint and bodywork is 30+ years old and it shows it. When I got the car I bought a new 6 volt battery(positive ground) and cranked it up and drove it around my neighborhood, but have not driven it since so now the battery is dead. The engine is still free but I have not tried to crank it. The engine is still the original V-8 60. The choke and throttle still work. The light switch and horn on the steering wheel are there but do not work. I believe the spring that holds the switch lever in the bottom of the steering column is missing, but can be gotten through Drakes. All of the wiring is the cloth coated original. The gas tank neck or the top of the tank has a leak, it does not show itself until you almost fill up the tank. The guages look really good and all of the dash stuff is all there. The crank out safari style windshield (1930's A/C) stll works very well and is not rotted out. The cowl vent still opens. Brakes are mechanical and still work. The parking brake still works but needs adjustment. very front floorpan is wood as original, front floorpans are homemade galvinized metal, rear floorpans are still original. Has the beige felt/mohair on the headliner and the seats are covered in old Pep Boys seat covers that are split but still look cool if you are into the patina'd look. Hideous shag carpeting on the floor that needs replacing. The single light and stem are in the trunk but the lense and bulb reflector are gone. I was going to put 39 taillights on it. Trunk looks good but the tool tray needs replacing. Spare is in there but the jack is gone. The tires have been on the car since the 50's and need replacing to drive. The hood opens and locks but the driver's side hinge has a broken bracket, it needs to be fixed or replaced (Drakes again). The rear bumper is bent but I have a replacement. The windows are in good shape and roll up and down great except for the passenger side rear which sticks as the window slides back just before it goes down. The rear windows are in good shape but the rubber needs to be replaced. The doors and trunk open and shut perfectly like bank vault doors and the hinges do not sag. Vehicle is being sold with a bill of sale from the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles as is required by the state of Georgia and my bill of sale that I recieved from the previous owner. Wirh all that being said it really is a cool old car that needs to be fixed up. The easiest route would be to keep the patina of the car and fix the mechanical and electrical stuff and drive it as is. It will be expensive to fully restore this car, but it is do-able. The car is being sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Shipping is the responsibility of the owner but I will help load the car. A $500.00 Deposit is required within 48 hours of the auctions close. All monies must clear the bank before the car is shipped or picked up. If you have any other questions or would like to come and look at the car, please call me @(478) 918-5294 or (478) 218-4566. Thank you, Guy (478) 918-5294 or (478) 218-4566 On May-29-11 at 09:05:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi, I had a person come by and look at the car this morning, and he pointed out a few things that I want to add. The key operates the column lock ignition but it does not operate the trunk or driver's door lock. He got up underneath the car and squoze one of the lower radiator hoses and it leaked, so it will need replacing(the passenger side). The wheels are the original artillery style wheels with the wide 5 bolt pattern as is the spare. All four original hubcaps are on the car. The tires need replacing. The car is a standard model with the standard steering wheel which does have cracks in it. The interior is complete and all window moldings are in place. One bezel for the one of the rear window cranks is missing. There is no interior rearview mirror. The lock to the gas cap is missing and the gas cap has been painted. There are two aftermarket guages under the dash. The foglight does not have the Ford Script on it. The car is mechanically all original. There is a box with extra ignition parts and a peep mirror in the car. I have not cranked the car up in over two years but the engine is free, we turned it by hand, and the car has been stored inside a building. I will consider trades but I really would like to just sell it. The reason I am selling it is I lost my storage last year but my boss has let me keep my cars at work up till now, but that's about to end. Thanks, Guy (478) 918-5294(C) (478) 218-4566(H) I have added several pictures of the pan repair areas and the underside. There is a plated frame repair at the driver's side frame kick-up as shown in the photos. Thanks, Guy (478) 918-5294(C) (478) 218-4566(H)
