Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1970 Triumph TR6 Bobber/Chopper/Hardtail. I bought this bike two years ago as you see it with the intent to rebuild the top end and probably the bottom, I was unsure if I was going to change its looks at the time. The individual I bought the bike from owned it for 20 years and he was the one to install the engine in this hardtail frame. It is a 1970 TR6 650 engine in a 1957 or 58 T110 frame with a hardtail and it is titled with the T110 frame #, the title is clear. I bought the bike beacuse I liked the layout, it tracks very good , the engine runs strong( even though I would rebuild the top end myself)and is very comfortable for a hardtail. The bike smokes a little from the left pipe when first started sometimes, but it clears up and it leaks oil around the rocker covers and head gasket a little that also burns off and starts to smoke a little after awhile....I wasnt concerned with this because I was going to do a top end anyway and of course all the gaskets would get changed then. I rode the bike about 6 times two years ago, parked it and havent touched it since because I got caught up in other projects. Just today I went out and started her up after two years and she fired up after about 6 kicks! I was surprised. I took her for a couple test rides and she rides the same as she did two years ago. I havent taken apart the engine or adjusted a thing since I have had the bike. See Youtube link for the bike starting today and riding. For reference I am about 6'-0" tall and about 180lbs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrKrOsAORM8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE6ftJ0jo1I The brakes work, lights work, clutch could use some adjustment or work but it works, tires arent bad at all, chromes in ok shape...not perfect of course, the front wheel is the stock Triumph Dunlop, the rear is a 16" Harley rim mated to a Triumph hub, AVON Speedmaster tires, Amal Carb, Battery eliminator. This bike isnt a trailer queen...it has scratches, a little rust here and there, leaks oil.....needs TLC. But I think its great base for whatever you want to do with it. Keep in mind even though this bike starts and runs very good actually, the bike needs some work in my opinion to be an everyday rider and its a vintage Triumph which requires basic mechanical knowledge to own....its kickstart, no directionals, no gas gauge, no speedo. But what you do with it is of course up to you! If you wanted to ride it until you did the work that would be your call! After I took the pics, I added got some gas on the right side of the tank and it stained a little( extra patina)...you can see it in the youtube video. UPDATE: 5/22 --I never did a compression test when I bought the bike, I did one this am..............170psi left cylinder, 175 psi right cylinder.......So it may just need new gaskets on the top end....No wonder it runs so strong! Again, if I was keeping the bike I would give it a going over before riding regularly. I have owned vintage Triumphs for years(over 5 pre 1970s) and have sold numerous motorcycles(11), quads(3) and other motor vehicles and you can see my feedback. I encourage anyone to come take a look at the bike, however it is not at my home so I will need some advance notice. Shipping is 100% the buyers cost and responsibility. If you have any questions please ask!
